DrFaroohk Posted May 21, 2012 Share Posted May 21, 2012 Rewatching Episode 3, and am wondering why everyone is so blind to the fact that palpatine = sidious. They already know he's corrupt, and it's right in front of their faces. I expect at any second one of the Jedi will mention it, but they never do. All they know is that the darkside surrounds him, they didn't know it was coming from him until Anakin found out and went to go tell Mace Windu. They had no proof, all they had was a suspect if they arrested a suspect without any evidence and it turns out that wasn't him, then that makes the jedi look dumb. It's just that they know that the senate is under the influence of a sith lord, they know that there is darkness surrounding palpatine and they know he's gaining too much power too quickly and they know that he is acting suspiciously enough for them to send anakin to spy on him...... Just because all that was going on around him, doesn't make him the sith lord they were looking for. If Palpatine wasn't the sith lord, he could have been somewhere influencing the minds of the senators to give Palpatine more power and corrupting Palpatine to do his bidding.
