Was my main and I'm returning after a good long break. Was curious how it performed when played well relative to the top tier classes.

I like IO for both PvE and PvP (regs) right now. I think it parses pretty well, top half of all DPS specs. It runs circles around arsenal for sustained DPS and even has decent burst. Energized charges tactical for single target, continuous fire for AoE. Furthermore, Concentrated Fire - IO’s BiS armor set - is easy to get. I haven’t played IO in ranked PvP, but in regs arenas I like it and do well. TD followed by autocrit Mag shot can really catch ppl off guard with 60k dmg.

Sadly, IO does not parse well. On the upside each class brings enough damage for any content, unless you're speedrunning.

For PVP right now IO merc is really good. You have probably the best array of defensive cooldowns in the game for pvp. And if you're playing IO spec you can pump damage. Currently IO merc is my second favorite spec in the game, right behind concealment operative. (I know, I play the most overpowered spec in the game.) IO has a fun rotation, the animations are really good, it has a good burst rotation, and great sustained and fluff damage.
