This question may have been asked already but if I have already purchased four strongholds with four different characters is it possible to complete the mission to purchase a stronghold with additional characters? If so, how?

Strongholds are legacy wide. It doesn't matter what alt you used to buy them. You can rename the alt that it belongs to. Say you used Bob to buy Tat, it says Bob's SH and you used Sue to buy Nar, that one says Sues SH. You can make Tat say Sue's SH. You can only own 4 per legacy, one on each of the current available planets.

And to complete the mission with your alts, simply enter one of your strongholds.

Every Character of at least level 15 can complete the mission, and get the rewards, simply get the quest from the Holo terminal, and then use the Directory Board to travel to your Stronghold. You might have to walk inside a bit to get it to fully trigger, but you will get all the rewards, and even the in game mails.
