Community Team, Assemble!

Hey everyone!

With Joveth's departure I just wanted to pop in and take this opportunity to have us, the Community team, reintroduce ourselves! I know at times you will have seen our names in different spots on the forums, Reddit, or social media, but I figured a formal "hello, I am this guy/girl" would be way better! I will have the other Community folks post below.

As you can already see, my name is Eric Musco! I have a bunch of different roles on the Community team but the things that are most public facing are that I handle BioWare's communication to guilds and fan sites (I actually came from a fan site myself!).

When it comes to The Old Republic itself, I am a big elder game player. I love diving into Operations and the occasional Warzone. I have two 50's currently and am working on my third, why did no one tell me Marauders were so much fun?

I also have an extreme love for our Rakghoul forum smileys! :rak_01::rak_04::rak_03::rak_02:

Musco really isn’t joking about his love of Rakghoul smilies…. I prefer Jawas myself! :jawa_tongue:

I’m Courtney Woods, Community Production Specialist here at BioWare Austin. My main responsibilities on the team include localization, maintaining, writing, editing, and managing content for SWTOR.com. An example of one the blogs I am responsible for is the Companions 101 series. I am crazy about Companions in our game so please feel free to PM me about any of your favorites!

I am an “altoholic” – I spend a lot of time figuring out creative ways to level up my characters with the Legacy System. I currently have two level 50s and three characters in their 40’s that I switch between, plus about 5 lower levels.

I look forward to chatting with y’all – especially about the story ("The Fourth Pillar"), Companions, and Flashpoints in our game. :jawa_biggrin:

:wea_09: Pa-chow!

Hi! I'm Amber Green and as Live Services Specialist, I am the community team's first line of defense in fighting the bugs and issues you report. This primarily has me compiling and writing patch notes for all of our deploys and maintaining the Known Issues. Additionally, I work with QA, Customer Support, and devs to reproduce and research issues before they're fixed.

Oh, and I don't have a favorite smile, because I am all about the high five! o/''\o

Hey guys, thank you for your continued work. :) You are all quite familiar to me here and on Twitter.

I would like to ask a couple of things, however.

First of all, is Joveth's position now "cannibalized" by the remaining team members, or will it be filled, or simply left empty? Who is going to do what Joveth was doing, exactly? (no snarky answers from the forum, please :p)

Secondly, what can we expect from this point forward? Will communication change? I think many people would like it to improve....seeing a community manager depart isn't exactly conducive to that.

PS - Courtney, love the companion blogs, looking forward to the rest of them.

bw may want to q&a classes from the start for bugs. I have a consular & knight who had monsters evade and run away in to tunnel/cave area leading up for the forge. Also, my sith warrior had sith evade and run away in the with acedemy in the story line quest.

Thanks for doing this. Kudos to BW for being much more active in communicating lately. I just hope it keeps up. It is very much appreciated! Out of curiosity, is Joveth's position one that will be filled with a new hire? Or are you not actively seeking to keep that position staffed? I haven't seen this addressed anywhere. Thank you!

I missed that depature. That's a real pity, she did a good job.

So three. Yeah, can't say I'm hoping for much on the communication front on these forums.

Edited to add: I will say it's been nice seeing the devs more active on the boards lately. That's a positive change that would be good to see more of.

Yeah...we didn't get to bid her fairwell. :( She was always good about responding to me personally on some things.

Yesterday he posted a farewell note on DEV and it was promptly removed. Someone posted in General and he responded to that one.

It wasn't removed, just un-stickied. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=5914348#post5914348
