It's not about changing the world. It's about doing our best to leave the world the way it is. It's about respecting the will of others and believing in your own... Isn't that... what... you fought for? -Big Boss

I love wow arenas. dont hate.
I love how people pull the skill card in this game. The skillcap is about an inch off the floor. This game, in its current incarnation, requires little to no skill. It's a casuals wet dream and it's no wonder so many defend it.

1) Everquest - Nothing like having to drag your corpse back and the fear you may lose all your gear.
2) World of Warcraft - It changed everthing...

Where it started is where it ended: Ultima Online launch - ~2000.

Honorable mention: EQ1, Shadowbane, AC, DAOC. As time went on the carebear aspect was more and more prevalent. Srsly I skipped WOW/WAR - very little skill involved. No wonder SWTOR turned out the way it did with those two as the precedents.

It's obvious TOR was not designed with PvP in mind from the beginning. I'm starting to think the PvP MMO is dead.

Eq2 by far
-tank taunts (group make up mattered)
-true open world (before battleground crap)
-3 faction system
- reward based on risk

It's more that people keep deluding themselves into thinking that PvE MMOs like Rift and SWTOR will have "REALLY GOOD PVP".

Maybe GW2 will change that.
