New WZ medal ideas

I'm thinking we need some War Zone specific medals.

Here are my initial thoughts, feel free to share yours!

 

 

Huttball:

Carrier Killer (Kill the ball carrier)

Touchdown (Score a point in Huttball)

Unstoppable (Score 3 points in Huttball)

Wingman (Heal the carrier for over 25k)

'-- not in a single life but throughout the game

Denied! (Kill the ball carrier within 5m of the goal)[credit - Deacon-frost]

 

Alderaan:

Control Freak (Take a turret, and kill a player who was attempting to take the turret within "n" seconds?)

Turret Defense (Kill "n" players near a turret control)

Ninja Cap (Capture a turret while there are 2+ enemies within 30m)

Swoop Interceptor (Block an opposing team's capture within "n" seconds of leaving a speeder)[credit Kryptorchid]

 

Voidstar:

Saboteur (successfully blow open a door in Voidstar)

Bomb Disposal Unit (disarm a bomb!)

Raider (extend the bridge)

Secret Agent Man (Download the data)

 

Group

Alderaan War Hero (Win with all 3 turrets captured)[Credit Kryptorchid]

Shut Out (Don't let the enemy score a single point in Huttball)

Shut Out (Don't let the enemy blow up a single door in Voidstar)

 

Generic

Eye on the Prize (Get 1k objective points)

(I don't know if this one exists or not... I don't think I've broken 1k obj points that I can recall... or at least I didn't check to see if I got a medal for it.)

 

 

I'm strongly biased against Huttball (I can't force leap OR knockback so those ramps give me nightmares.)

I'm also strongly biased towards Alderaan. (Love that map)

 

P.S. I think my medal names were clever.

I'm also all for team-wide medals... like 3-capping Alderaan or completing Voidstar in under a set time. However, I suspect those wouldn't be in the spirit of medals. (which are for personal achievements)

 

EDIT: team medals, however, would make the apparent gap in medal across the team less significant, helping to diminish the QQ from baddies who can't do 75k dmg or healing.

Having 5 medals when the top got 8 would be less debasing than getting 23 when the top got 6

I like these and they would be really nice to have.

 

I usually play defense for about half the game in Huttball, stay along the goal line and take out anybody who comes down those ramps with a stun or aoe knockback. There could be a medal for a kill so close to the goal line for playing Defense,

(honestly hard to think of alderaan medals... nothing to do but sit near a turret control... still my favourite WZ though.)

Normally posts like these are kind of dumb but this list is good. I'd support this...

Added it to the list, good idea... I just feel there's too many medal possibilities in Huttball and so few in Alderaan. Although considering so many people (myself included) hate Huttball it might help smooth that over. xP

 

(Seriously, getting stunned and knocked back into the pit as an IA is really bloody frustrating.)

Ha, yeah when i played an IA in beta as soon as I saw a jedi had a bead on me I would disable that sucker from a distance and pray he didnt have his break free available.

As an operative I dont get any long range CC... I have to be within 10m for the sleep dart (which requires stealth) and 10m again for the flashbang and within melee range for debilitate. :(

 

So all I can do is hope that no enemy Assassin's or Shadow's sneak up near me and knock me into the pit. But still... there is a lot of CC getting thrown around and almost no noticeable diminishing returns.

Alderaan:

Alderaan War Hero - Capture all three nodes in a single match.

Basement Dweller - Kill an opposing enemy underneath the middle capture point.

Swoop Interceptor - Block an opposing team's capture within 4 seconds of leaving a speeder.

 

Voidstar:

Attack of the Clones (Team Medal) - Place a bomb at both doors with 5 seconds of each other.

I like the Swoop Interceptor. Group medals I'm still on fence about (objectively speaking).

Basement Dweller is funny but I wouldn't want to reward players for camping out in there in hopes for a medal. =p

Updated the list.

 

I think medals favouring a single class or non-contributive gameplay should be avoided. ;-P

 

(there's already QQ about dps vs healer medals, let's not suggest a specific class medal lol)

Heres a couple of ideas:

 

Huttball Specific:

 

Serial Carrier Killer (Kill 3 ball carriers)

The crowd goes wild (score 3 touchdowns without dying)

Escort (Soak 25k damage from the carrier via guard/taunt)

Interceptor (Catch 2 enemy passes)

Boobytrap (Get a kill via firetrap/acid pool)

Air yards (Cover X feet in succesful passes throughout the match)

Blitz (Score a goal within 30 seconds of a neutral ball reset)

Carrier (Travel X feet in a match while holding the ball)

 

 

Alderaan:

 

Point Harrasment (Interrupt 5 attempted enemy caps in one warzone)

 

 

Voidstar:

 

Covering Fire (Interrupt 5 disarm attempts in one warzone)

Area Denial (Interrupt 5 arming attempts in one warzone)

Noooooooooooo (Get 3 Kills via bridge punt)

 

 

General:

 

Dual-Threat (break 150k in any 2 of damage done, healing done, or protection)

I know you all want to complain about huttball, or the queuing system or how OP class "x" is but take a moment and offer some feedback on my WZ medal ideas? :>

 

Do you think specific warzones should have their own medals?

Do you think there should be team medals?

What new medals do you think should be implemented?
