Pazaak

Im considering petitioning DEV to introduce kotors style Pazaak to the game. It would definitely add a new dynamic. And give players who aren't into pvp or rping or pve something to get into. Make it a mission in the smuggler story line then available to all classes competitively as end game content or an unlock as insentive. Make it something you have to Q for in GF. With a ranked version and season play with end of the season rewards. And yes real creds should be used. What do you guys and gals think. I think it would be fun.

Anything that adds depth to a game is good imo, a mini game inside a game can add a lot of fun.

However, I don't think they have the resources atm to devote to creating any mini-games when so many issues that need to be addressed with the main game itself.

Perhaps someday when they get things rolling smoother since their latest updates that dropped tons of bugs into SWTOR need addressed first.

There may also be legal concerns, as there are all kinds of regulations for skill-based gambling.

I assume player vs. machine would be okay, but player vs. player pazaak could cause all kinds of trouble, since we could spend real life money on cartel coins and sell CM stuff for credits, just to lose those credits to pazaak sharks.

Even if it turns out to be legal everywhere SWTOR is played, that's still a risk of bad publicity and lawyer costs that can be easily avoided.

No need to involve CC.

FFXIV Has their own card game that you can play either against NPCs or other Player Characters, and they haven't had any legal issues with it.

The "legal" argument people like to bring up seems to hold no water.

I mean the thing is, this game has an actual event that centers around gambling, the Night Life event. Obviously gambling isn't a concern or activity this game is afraid of including.

Yeah, I'm sympathetic to the idea that a company will have concerns not immediately apparent to us, the users. However, The last time the legal issue was brought up, no one was able to actually cite any instance of BW talking about it, or explaining what would be the issue.

As long as they did not tie it directly to CC I don't see the issue. Loot Crates and similar "gambling" features under fire right now are all purchased for real money, not imaginary credits.

Pazaak shouldve been in the game since day 1 . every planet has a cantina and its a souless useless place , and it should had npc to buy and sell cards from and a board of players score in there .

Between Pazaak and swoop racing , I liked pazaak more . Its alot of fun .

well maybe not gambling millions on pazaak , then again..they kinda suck at making decent prizes . I mean remmeber the casino ? useless souless place..no atmosphere . Unless you play the slot event thingy and..the prizes..everyone want the mount

maybe for a few credits rewards , boost , useful things ? cose honestly..I would play pazaak cose I love the game! not for the reward .

But its a pipe dream at this point......

I was thinking of the same event. Wouldn't it be fun if they added Pazaak to it in addition to the slots?

Of course, they would need to update the rewards, which hasn't happened in forever. Lol.

They could do lots of stuff with the casinos on Nar Shaddaa. They could even have all year long slots open if they wanted to add more credit sinks into the game. They could create different prizes and rewards for winning too.

If the slots ran all year long, and had some unique rewards drop from winning on slots people would play them constantly. BW could create armor sets that dropped from the slots, rare weapons, rare hats, basically all kinds of things.

To really make it work, these unique prizes would need to be extremely rare, like as rare as the certificates are that drop from the Cartel Slot Machines we have in player SHs.

Pfft. Last time I put any effort at all, it was to get the Golden Certs for the Socialite armour(1) set, and the last time I put any *real* effort, it was for the Gammorrean (?sp) companion.

(1) I use this word somewhat loosely here.
