ChosenPredator
I've been seeing people use these things - http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/bounty_hunter/powertech/?build_id=1491#::e13fe5f3ef22ef11:1491 So I was wondering what your build will be and why? for PVP/PVE a mixture of both, just curious to have a good in depth look since I want to try a bounty hunter out. JohnAntilles
Right now I'm kind of torn, stuck between 31 point Adv. Prototype and 31 point Pyrotech.. On one hand, i love the pvp talents of the adv. proto, with its ability to dodge snares and roots, run faster, and just generally nuke the hell out of people with Immolate. On the other, i love a 90% armor penetrating railshot... Right now, Im looking at this, which is Adv. proto, but with a focus on Combustible gas cylinder instead of high energy, for the extra high dmg fire dot and 100% chance for a 30% snare on flameburst, which i think will make keeping people in melee range easier then just Hydraulic overrides with the 15% run speed boost alone, with no snare. i also like that almost all of its attacks outright ignore armor and do massive damage: immolate, flamethrower, railshot (60%), flameburst, retractable blade all do great damage, work well with proccing free/autocrit attacks, and just act like the tank is wearing paper. edit: here is the build http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301ZMsrrobfkdsZfhM.1 Edited December 14, 2011 by JohnAntilles
GazTheViking
edit: here is the build http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301ZMsrrobfkdsZfhM.1 That is a really good build I hadn't even considered yet. Eeeeenteresting Do you think you'll suffer from heat exhaustion without the high energy talent venting heat every 6 seconds or so. Your point about the snare is valid though. That's a very viable way to add an extra dot. However, I think I would prefer the permanent 15% movement increase, heat vent, damage increases and armor bolstering. Mograth
For PvE Tank: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301G0GrdRbogzZrz0MZ0c.1 I felt that -4% Damage will not be as effective as being able to lower your cooldown's a lot. Also, the root-effect on Grapple will nail enemies that might have a jump in front of you to take the full damage from your Flamethrower =)
Kryxia
I am more going with the Advanced Prototype and this will be my build which I feel will maximize the dps http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301hMhZMsMMRrfkdsZb.
ayoda
gotta go with my http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#3010MZrsrMobcoZfhbbdh.1 for some sweet rail shot, rocket punch procs
MosesMercury
I'd like to try this. http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/bounty_hunter/powertech/?build_id=1491#::e2fe4fe9fe5f12ef21 I would like to have retractable blade, just don't think I can squeeze it in without taking something more important away. ChosenPredator
Some interesting builds so far - still considering mine - analyzing everyone specs is great though - what would be the ideal PVP/PVE combo?
MDN-Silmarils
Hi, I want to try something like this http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301hMhrdMZ0MZfhMbdG0M.1 Im still not sure about the 2 points in infrared sensors but it should go well with No Escape. Not sure either about Ablative upgrades. Might put the points in Combust. This should give me a nice rail shot and some nice goodies on the side. Build is based on combustible cylinder of course. Incendiary missle, grapple, rocket punch, flame burst, rail shot. This should make anybody swet And I still have my electro surge to rince and repeat Let me know what you think. Triarah
For PvE Tank: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301G0GrdRbogzZrz0MZ0c.1 I felt that -4% Damage will not be as effective as being able to lower your cooldown's a lot. Also, the root-effect on Grapple will nail enemies that might have a jump in front of you to take the full damage from your Flamethrower =) I would tend to agree, except that I don't see many bosses who are affected by stun/immobilize/etc effect. Off-tanking it's a good build, but we hardly have dual-specs yet. All these builds are fairly solid, I would have to go with this one: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301G0GrdorogzZMcbZ0c.1 May switch things up depending on the fight, but that would be my standard tanking build. Triarah
Both my builds are strictly PvE builds. Will get around to discussing rotations in a different post.
Erikbash
Mannnn, I just can't figure out how i want to spec my BH. So many ways to do it. But I do think I will spec until last skill. How do you all feel about not speccing it full and not getting that last skill? Does it hamper you max dps or is it not that bad?
theangryllama
I'm afraid I am not a pretty unique snowflake and will stick to the min/max build hashed out several times on the pre launch forums. http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/bounty_hunter/powertech/#::e2fe10fe2f2e3fef12ef4ef16 Will be the cookie cutter PvE tank build. If you are swapping points around it is because you will be an offtank, be soloing heaps or are a pvp tank

theangryllama
http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301hMZMcZfhrbzGhrs.1 Bursty super toasty PvP Pyrotech. Take one point out of intimidation and throw it into prototype cylinders (especially as you are running with the cooldown reductions from crits) for extra bursty goodness
