Note to Bioware Regarding Early Release – Community Manager PLEASE READ

Typically I try to stay out of these flame wars that inevitably happen whenever a new MMO is being released and the Devs are making choices that seem to sour the community. However this Early Release event seems to be getting handled in a very poor way from a marketing, retention and customer service point of view. Just look at the first thread regarding the invite emails that went over 1,000 replies and over 500,000 views in less than 3 hours. There is a very big reason for that.

To the Community Managers and Moderators of the forums: As you can very plainly see people are beginning to do their own math with regard to the waves of invites that are coming out. Many players who registered their game on the very first day of preordering were not included in any of the waves as of yet and this is obviously causing a fairly significant uproar. Even to the point where people are cancelling preorders and are seriously upset. It doesn’t matter that “more waves are coming” or that “if you didn’t get invited today you’ll get your invite ‘soon’”. People inevitably only see that the method for which people are being invited doesn’t appear to make a lot of sense.

You have hundreds of thousands of people begging to play the game they have been waiting for many, many years. Now there appears to be no logic to the invites and it is really upsetting people. At the risk of upsetting FAR FEWER players by the “potential for a mistake” as previously mentioned it makes FAR MORE SENSE to explain who will be invited and when based on the parameters that you have internally designated.

Right now the ambiguity is causing much more dissention and negativity than a clearly stated outline of when players “may expect their invites to come” based on the dates they registered their preorder. Legally speaking the “may” still leaves things nonspecific in case the player doesn’t get the invite for the obvious potential reasons, but still gives the angry mob what they are CLEARLY ASKING FOR.

Do the right thing and be more specific.

They were very specific, you will have early access from the 15th to the 19th, based on when you registered your beta key.

Then they out of the goodness of their hearts decided to add 2 days to this, to which NOBODY IS ENTITLED.

And still, people cry and cry and cry.

This is very true. Why cant people just be happy with what they get? I didnt preorder till October, so i know i probably wont get into the game till way late, but im definatly happy to be able to play early at all. Still better than waiting till the 20th.

Actually its not based on the beta key, its the preorder key.
