How about adding Pazzak to SWTOR?

So recently I played KOTOR and it came to my mind. It's small thing but quite enjoyable and would be nice especially for KOTOR fans. Since its MMO there would be even possibility to make 'PvP' pazzak games.

If there was already posted something like this, then sorry for spam

It has been requested to death and yet they dont do it. This has been asked to death every year since this game been out. Hell i asked if it would be put in back when i beta tested the game. I got PROBABLY NOT. So thats what im going with now too.

PROBABLY NOT......

I would love for it to too. I love for swoop bike racing would be added too. it isnt gonna happen.

Also would like to see it, they could even connect it somehow with mounts :D But since you say pazzak hasnt been added despite requesting it for so many years swoop bikes are also not likely to show up

Yeah, such a shame though. SWTOR could use a few fun mini-games. I'd also add Dejarik to the list, yes we have the emote but still.

The reasoning I saw back in the day (beta) is that it was initially intended. There's even an unusable Pazaak table in The Esseles Flashpoint on Pub side. But allegedly the game would have to be re-rated by the ESRB in the US and similar organizations internationally to include gambling. As others have stated, we've been asking this since beta and early access and that's the response I was given 7 years ago.

I'd love to see it and I hope with the recent return of Imperial v Republic storyline and the upcoming 6.0, we'll see some more support for the game overall but I still won't hold my breath for Pazaak.

Actually is there any information about upcoming 6.0?

For swoop bike racing to be added swoops would actually need to be fast.. like about as fast as the one you have to find fuel for on ziost. Even with the 130% boost we have now swoops are too damn slow to feel exciting for racing in swtor.

I wouldn't buy that as an excuse.... We have Dabo in star trek online and that game has the same rating. More than likely it's because they would need to make a minigame and interface window for it to be functional.

Can anyone say CASINO EVENT?

Is Magic: the Gathering considered to be gambling? Pazaak (thanks for correcting the spelling, I thought it seemed off) would have more in common with that than with gambling.

Yeah, I don't think people pay so much attention about gambling, even KOTOR didn't have that restriction, there are a lot of games where you can play mini games like Poker etc and they don't have that PEGI sign so I also think that it wound be a problem

Completely forgot about Dabo in STO so that's a good direct comparison.

Very much agreed on it being outdated reasoning with the Casino Event in play. Heck, it may not have been valid at the time we were given it as an excuse.

Also, just saw your forum signature. I was on Bria in SWG til the night the servers shutdown.

Ahh. I had actually completely missed CU...had had to cancel my sub for a few months for financial reasons, resubbed the very day they dropped NGE on us. Poked at it for an hour or two and just found myself getting more and more upset with everything I looked at (I had been building up one character as a tailor/shipwright and another was going to be pure creature handler), cancelled the sub, and only came back once for a cantina crawl. Ever since I’ve been trying to find *something* that could even come remotely close to what pre-CU SWG had.

I love SW, and I love bioware’s storytelling, but...I miss the freedom SWG offered, and all the little details like needing to learn the languages if another player set their chat to be in their character’s native language

This might shed some light on the whole gambling thing if its true, just something i heard awhile back.

Reason why the casino event is ok is 1. the machines are there already in game, all they need to do is add the bells and whistles sound and animation. Then of course code how often you hit that digital jack pot. Now Pazaak like with Kotor it more or less need its own mini game interface where you dont see the surrounding scenery Just your name and opponents name then the animation of cards being dealt and played. But i think some one already mention that it probably take a new game engine to implement something like that on, Makes sense.

2. now is what i heard that i dont know for sure if it is true. But slot machine gambling is treated differently by laws in different states or region, depending where you live at. Card gambling like Poker, Black Jack, so forth, involves 2 or more players. Compared to a 1 person slot machine, Human vs Machine. Card games PvP, and like a casino it takes licenses and gambling permits, so forth. which means regulations and that thing called a Gambling tax. All things a Video game company like this one, Would Not want to dive into, to much crap to deal with. And Why should they?

Of Course in Kotor Pazaak was a Player v machine or computer. So they was able to do that with out breaking any laws. Again this is something i heard i know States do regulate and have to pay gambling taxes and such so it all does make sense. but thats JMO.

You may Draw your own???

So...you’re claiming that Magic: the Gathering tournaments fall under the same laws as poker and blackjack? IIRC, Pazaak has more in common with CCGs than anything else, because you have to find cards and build a deck and so on (it’s been years since I played the kotor games)

I, I am Not Claiming any thing really cause i believe i said this was something 'i heard'. Now the part i said is, that it makes sense to me, thats just my opinion. Plus i have no clue about Magic the gathering, i never played it.

you know how much more of an improvement it would be to add Pazzak to SWTOR plus here's an idea add pazzak cards to the cartel market, HMMM HMMM hello? Plus like someone else said seasonal leagues brilliant idea there. Hello listen up devs. Gold mine here.

Yea for real! Make it so you can play against NPCS, maybe would give us a reason to travel to cantina? Much like the Conquest Commanders make Pazzak challengers who randomly spawn for 2 or 3 hours at a time in cantinas across the galaxy! Winning could give CXP, money and better cards maybe other rare items and mats.

Then you could have player v player duels for fun or for credit bets and have other players watch / spectate! Then do a ranked version as well. And as someone else said make it like a cartel purchase. I don't mind dropping 10 bucks to unlock access to it and you could sell pazzak packs for 200 or 300 coins for additional cards and such.

Untapped gold mine idea. Could even make it worth conquest points. Maybe allow players to bet otherwise bound items even though that can be a slippery slope I suppose.

Just all around great idea that you guys could easily make money in!
