Okay, so...

 

When you start out, you can send a max of 2 companions on Crew Skill missions (even if you only have 1).

 

I heard that you could send out a max of 3 when you hit Lv25. When I hit Lv25, I was disappointed that I could not. After visiting my trainer and learning my Lv25 skills, suddenly, I could send out 3 companions.

 

The same person who told me that 3 was the max at 25 also told me that 4 was the max at 35, and 5 was the max at 45.

 

Now I am Lv35, I've learned my skills, and still can only send 3 companions out.

 

Does anyone know what exactly the deal is?

I know that you can send five out at max. I believe I received my 5th at level 45 without seeing my trainer.
