Zenith will return

I was so pleased by this news! In 2011 my first character was a consular and I really grew attached to Zenith! I was sad he wasn't a romance option along with Scourge for my Knight, but 9 years later it finally happened! Romance or not for Zenith though, I just want my whole crew back for my JC like I have with my JK now! I'm guessing he'll probably be brought back in 2021.

Considering the same voice actor voices Zenith as Theron Shan... maybe you already have :)

Yep, like always, the Consular gets the short end of the stick. We have had to wait the longest for our companions to return, Tharan's return was teased for two months before we were finally able to welcome them back, and now we get

for Zenith's return. And if we ask how soon, well, fade to black. At this point, any excuse they use for Zenith's absence is going to be ridiculous. Stuck in a Zakuulan prison, no, already did that. Finding themself and realizing that they are our equal.
. Trapped in carbonite? No, that was us. No, I know.

Consular: Zenith! Where have you been all this time? I have been back for years, and my name and face are all over the holonet. Surely you did not know I was back.

Zenith: Oh, no, I saw that you were back, Jedi, but I was too busy blackmailing my rivals, arresting hungry refugees because they did something I did not like, and making sure that Tai knew that I opposed them.

Do not misunderstand. I want Zenith back. I just do not have very high expectations for that return at this point.

From a story point of view, Zenith joining the Alliance would have not made much sense unless within 5 years he grew to accept Imperials. I think personally his character caused them to write themselves into a corner with exactly how he could return during that time. I've gone over it in my head many times and I'm just not sure how it would have been believable.

Scourge is similar. If you have a Pub who is not a Knight, he refuses to kill anymore of his own kind, but if you are an Imp, he will gladly kill Pubs, while Kira outright refuses. Only exception is the Knight, who he wishes to stand by even if you demand he prove himself to you or refuse his romance after admitting feelings. Unlike Zenith though, Scourge showed early he could change alliances for the sake of something bigger. Zenith can't even be talked down from chaining up his own people.

Bringing him back for a Consular who chose the Republic is the only thing that makes sense to me, though despite his trust of you, learning you joined with the Empire even for a short time might make it difficult, or the fact you literally had the Emperor living in your head and may or may not have accepted his powers.

At this point he might have to have been knocked so hard on the head he loses his memory of his hate of everything Imperial. :p

It's Tharan who really disappointed me though.

Just for clarification, but isn't he the angry Twi'lek from the Consular's storyline?

Yes that's him! It's a shame too because once you've finally earned his trust he shows a more softer side, but by then the class story is over and so are his conversations.

As for the voice, it's not the voice itself but the speech pattern that helps tell Theron and Zenith apart. Theron speaks normally. Zenith speaks similar to Mordin in Mass Effect. Short and incomplete sentences. More like a computer than a person when he's thinking out loud. It's pretty unique.

While I made a shadow ages ago, I'm doing another Sage now and was curious whatever happened to this guy. I hope they have an amazing story for why he has been gone for so long. Granted I could really care less I barely used him, and don't play female toons so I didn't have a romance going. But it's just kind of shocking that he is still missing.

Right? I mean I can understand right after the Eternal Empire (post KOTET 9) was defeated, and the Alliance first took over, that it might take some time to filter through to the wider galaxy. Andronikos was off raiding errant Eternal Fleet vessels on a vendetta. Akaavi and Mako bounty hunting. Nadia, Jaesa, Ashara were all off doing Jedi-ey stuff. But in KOTFE 15 we learn that Tai Corden is a senator for Balmorra now, and Zenith's passion was always for Balmorra before any other concern. Look, even a two-bit pit boss at the NS casino recognizes who the Alliance Commander is. A random major stationed on Dantooine knows who the Alliance Commander is.

It would certainly be in character for Zenith to decline to join the Alliance, when the PC finally locates him.

The Agent played a big part in how broken Zenith is now. Can't imagine him joining that class if he returned. It'll probably be Consular only like Felix.

Unless they play it out that the agent was brainwashed into doing what they did (LS option)...

I'd love to see how that convo would go! The guys from the Resistance are very unforgiving as my JK learned when she got a blaster aimed at her face for trying to help them.

I want Zenith to meet Theron and accuse him of mocking him by stealing his voice.

I Iaughed so much at this :D It really is the only option because any other story line would be lame or make no sense given the time gap. The only return story they haven't done is "x companion retired to x island on a middle-of-nowhere-clueless-to-rest-of-the-galaxy's-shenanigans-planet-that-has-no-space-tv".

Oh wait, they almost did did this with Dr Lokin.

I bet they try to distract us from Zenith's really bad return story by making him romanceable.

Didn't they do this with 'Doc' and Nadia though!?

Yep. Been done. The only story that makes sense at this point, and has not already been done, is for Zenith to admit they knew we were back and just did not care enough to come find us.

Zenith becoming president of Balmorra would explain why Tai was a senator now but also why he couldn't just leave to meet up with the consular. At least it'd be a storyline that hasn't been done for a companion return.

It would actually be kind of nice for someone to be all "You aren't the center of the galaxy ffs"

This would be interesting. It would, however, clash a bit with the idea that it was hard for the Alliance to find our "missing" companions. The president of Balmorra would be a public figure.
