Would it be best to get the ranked weapon before getting ranked body armor, ear piece, implants, etc? What should my priority be in getting which pieces.

I used to think that getting the armorings would be best for damage reduction then I found out that there is no difference in 168 to 174 armorings; they get bolstered to max either way.
