Trying to figure out where to properly place the Taral V/ Maelstorm Prison flashpoints in terms of the Jedi Knight Story.

 

According to Wookiepedia, the flashpoints where you rescue Revan take place during the Galactic War. Dialogue from the Yoda like character says that rescuing the Jedi prisoner Revan would turn the tide of the "war." https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Galactic_War

Problem is that the war supposedly begins by the time chapter 3 starts in the Jedi Knights story, so now I am a bit confused where to place these flashpoints in a story perspective. If you played the Jedi Knight story, where would you play those FPs in terms of story?

They could mean turn the tide of the coming war. I'd say it definitely makes to play it before the Act 2 Finale. Otherwise, you will have rescued Revan after meeting the one who betrayed him to the Emperor, and then no mention of that would occur when you meet him.

My only interpretation is that they take place within the timeframe where your class story brings you to a planet where you can pick it up.

 

So, after completing Balmorra/Taris for your example. I pick it up on the way off world.

It's a good question, perhaps the republic act 2 merely begins after the Imperial Act 2... I personally like to do those FPs in the "break" you have between act 1 or 2 on both sides.
