Hello everyone! We appreciate you joining us to play Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, and we hope you enjoy the game. As MMORPGs are large and complex projects, inevitably we do discover issues that may affect gameplay. We're working constantly to fix anything that will affect the player experience, but for now this is our current list of high priority in-game known issues. Please note that this is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all bugs that the developers are working on. Also, we encourage you to report any issues that you do not see on this list via the in-game /bug feature.

UPDATED: December 2nd, 2013

General

  • The new Workbench Modification Table in the VIP Area of the Fleet was not installed properly and does not yet function as intended.

  • If players have selected "Hide Head Slot", cinematics will briefly display helmets before they disappear.

Cartel Market

  • If a player is not a Guild Leader and attempts to change a guild's name the action is not allowed. Currently there is no error message to indicate that the action is not allowed.

  • Players who are below the required Escrow Balance who attempt to use a Credit Escrow Transfer Package will incorrectly be given the error "This unlock has already been applied to your character".

  • Characters with Level 55 are not currently prevented from purchasing or using Experience Boosts.

  • The button on the sale tab of the GTN that allows you to purchase additional sale slots is not visible after a player purchases the 4th sale slot upgrade, even though a 5th sale slot upgrade is available in the Cartel Market.

  • Characters with Valor Rank 100 are not currently prevented from purchasing or using Cartel Market Valor Boosts.

  • Sentinel: The tooltip for Transcendence does not indicate that the ability affects group members within a certain range, nor does it list the range.

  • Assassin: The tooltip for Overcharge Saber states that it increases healing done by all charges, yet the charges do not provide healing.

  • Shadow: The tooltip for Battle Readiness states that it increases healing done by all charges, yet the charges do not provide healing.

  • Some female Smugglers and Bounty Hunters may display incorrect leg animation when weapons are drawn.

Crew Skills

  • Artifice: Reverse Engineering Dread Guard relics displays an error message and does not yield crafting materials as intended.

Companion Characters

  • The mail containing an extra set of gear for HK-51 is not sent as intended when players purchase the Companion using credits or Cartel Coins.

  • Vector is struggling with an overwhelming shyness. He appears to be wearing clothing when his gear is removed and his skin doesn't appear correctly when wearing revealing gear.

  • The options to Unify Colors and Hide Head slot do not function for Companion Characters while on player starships.

  • If any group member has a vanity pet that becomes damaged, Companion Characters will stop healing players until the pet is dismissed.

Collections

  • The Dueling Banner is not properly added to Collections when used.

  • The Collections tooltip for the Auxiliary Body Armor does not indicate that the belt and bracers are only available in the Space Pirate's Cartel Pack.

Flashpoints and Operations

Flashpoints

  • The Foundry: Players can experience a client crash after the conversation with Helm Officer Martos. This occurs in both Story and Hard Modes.

Operations

  • Dread Fortress: The "Void Zone Laser" ability deals damage outside of the visually indicated range during the encounter with Corruptor Zero.

  • Dread Fortress: During the encounter in Hard Mode, Corruptor Zero's "Gravity Field" ability incorrectly affects players who should be immune (such as Snipers with "Entrench" or Sorcerers with "Force Barrier" active).

  • Dread Fortress: During the encounter with Gate Commander Draxus, it is possible for The Dread Guard Dismantler to knock players outside of the game world with the "Strong Swipe" ability.

  • Dread Palace: The boss may reset if players do not taunt Dread Master Calphayus during the fourth phase of the encounter.

  • Explosive Conflict: The "Protected" buff may remain on Ugnaugh Machinist longer than intended.

  • Scum and Villainy: Several enemy abilities, buffs, and debuffs are missing descriptions to indicate their effects.

Items and Economy

  • The Advanced Yellow Blue Crystal from the Opportunist's Bounty Pack displays differently in Collections and the Preview Window than when equipped.

  • Regardless of how many are for sale, "Emote: Head Bob" does not yield results when searching the GTN.

  • Darth Sion's Paulron and the Relaxed Vestments chestpiece cause female skin to display incorrectly beneath them.

  • Several Strike Team Oricon/Dread Executioner Galactic Reputation items display incorrect icons.

  • Movement sounds persist after dismounting the Adno Mantis, Adno Locust, and Adno Saberwasp speeders.

  • Sounds do not play as intended when using some vehicles, such as Rocket Boost.

  • The “NovaDive” mini-pet is incorrectly named the “Flashfire” when summoned.

Legacy

Achievements

  • The "Tython Loremaster" Achievement is not able to be obtained by Smugglers and Troopers due to the missing "Jedi Holocon" and "Jedi Weapon" Lore Codex entries.

  • The "Line Bisector" Achievement does not advance as intended for players in a group who do not get the killing blow on the enemy.

  • The Achievement "Going Rogue" is not granted after defeating the Rogue Cartel Warbot on Quesh.

  • The Achievement "Ilum Beastmaster" is not able to be completed due being unable to obtain the Bogwing Codex entry.

  • The Achievement "Kill It With Fire" cannot currently be completed, as it does not update properly when players kill Makrin while they are on fire.

  • When receiving Cartel Coins as an Achievement reward, the UI notification displays twice for a single reward. The Chat Window will display the Achievement reward correctly.

Missions and NPCs

Missions

  • Certain missions, such as [DAILY] Supplemental Research, will not progress upon looting mission items from enemies. If players are in a group but are more than 70m away when the mission progresses for other members, they will be unable to loot the mission item and progress normally.

    Workaround
: Group members who have progressed should move at least 70m away from the mission item to allow it to be looted properly.

  • When on the Czerka Daily Area Quest Droid Demolition/Manual Shutdown the quest will not progress properly when a companion gets the killing blow on a droid.

Macrobinoculars and Seeker Droid Missions

  • Taxis do not properly indicate where to travel for some Macrobinoculars and Seeker Droid missions.

  • The Shroud Revealed (Republic)/The Shroud's Last Stand (Imperial): If players are in a group, the mission step "Defeat the Shroud's Replicator Droids" may not progress if Replicator Droids are defeated by a group member who is not currently on this mission.

    Workaround
: Players can reset the phase or mission, ensuring that the Replicator Droids are defeated only by group members who currently have the mission objective.

  • The Shroud Revealed (Republic)/The Shroud's Last Stand (Imperial): Players who are defeated during the final encounter of this mission may be resurrected at the wrong Medcenter in a location further away than intended.

World Missions

  • Makeb: Several missions and NPCs are have missing or incorrect mapnotes.

  • Taris: Catalyst (Republic): Entering or exiting the mission instance while on the step "Get Infected By A Rakghoul" will incorrectly give the message "Failed Mission: Catalyst" even though the timer has not yet run out.

  • Belsavis: Section X: The Shackle Remote mission item from [DAILY] March of the Dread Guard is incorrectly displayed in the Mission Log for [DAILY] Hyperbiology and [DAILY] Targeted Misfire.

NPCs

  • Hoth's Hailstorm Survivalists have had their weapons privileges temporarily revoked. Some of them pretend they're still holding guns when not relegated to punching attackers for minor damage.

PvP

  • The codex entry entitled "Ancient Hypergate: Took Cover from Explosion" can be erroneously obtained.

  • When entering Huttball Warzone, the dialogue from Baron Deathmark may not be heard or seen in the chat.

Space Combat

  • The "Saleucami Fleet Action" Achievement cannot be completed, because the "Eliminate Fighters" bonus mission does not update properly.

UI

  • The Codex entry entitled "Achievement: Space" incorrectly lists 14 possible entries, when only 13 exist.

  • Item hyperlinking and previewing do not currently function from Guild Banks.

  • The Czerka CR-17 Incendia and Kurtob Alliance mounts do not display in preview window properly.

  • Premium Players who are in a Free-to-Play guild are still shown some UI elements intended for Free-to-Play and Preferred Players.

  • When using the Who List to report inappropriate player behavior, there is not currently an option to select a report category.

  • Preferred Status Players are given an incorrect message indicating their maximum number of GTN sales.

  • When using the Who List to report inappropriate player behavior, there is not currently an option to select a report category.

Galactic Starfighter

General

  • When in Galactic Starfighter all audio can completely turn off, the issue is resolved as soon as you leave Galactic Starfighter.
  • Attempting to change graphic settings while dead may prevent players from being able to queue for respawn successfully.
  • The Cinematics button on the Character Selection screen does not function at this time.
  • All Sensor Dampening upgrades are currently limited to 15k meters.
  • Ship Mastery icons do not explicitly state the amount of Requisition bonus gained by their use. (10%)

Chat

  • Players of the same faction may occasionally see chat messages from other Battles.

Cosmetics/Cartel Market

  • After unlocking any “Gas Canister” or “Chemical Reactant”, the player can no longer re-select the standard (e.g. “None”) cosmetic options.
  • Some cosmetics options, when previewed for purchase, will display a different ship model than what is described/shown in the Cartel Market. The item will still function correctly once purchased.
  • Preview Panel for Galactic Starfighter items is improperly labeled as a “Character Tab”.

Hangar

  • If the player presses the “ESC” key while dragging a ship loadout icon, the icon will become attached to the game cursor until re-log.
  • Rapidly clicking Components within the Hangar can result in weapon preview effects looping improperly.
Workaround: Close and reopen the Hangar.
  • The TZ-24 Enforcer improperly shares the same component icon between its two Primary Weapons.
  • Mastered Ships do not display their gold ship icon as intended in the “Select Your Ship” interface.
  • The Ship Preview Window does not currently update previewed (but unpurchased) Components when the Crew Tab is first clicked.

Combat

  • Debuff icons may not appear properly for targets on the Targeting Computer when attacking multiple ships with the same debuff-applying weapon. Note that these debuff effects are still being applied to enemy ships properly.
  • The Munitions Capacity Extender minor component is currently providing slightly less of an ammo boost than the described 20% increase.
  • Damage Over Time effects applied to shields will always apply to the shield arc closest facing the attacker, rather than the arc it was originally applied to.

Crew

  • Passive Crew Ability “Depth of Field” does not currently extend your sensor focus range by 2500m.

Tooltips

  • Co-Pilot ability “Nullify” tooltip improperly states that it “reduces the amount of damage done to the hull”, which is incorrect. This ability instead buffs the “damage reduction” stat for ships.
  • The “Improved Firing Arc and Tracking” upgrade for Light Laser Cannons and Rapid-Fire Laser Cannons do not update tooltip values properly. Note that these upgrade bonuses are still being applied to these components correctly.

Tutorials

  • The “Battle Type – Domination” tutorial will not be marked as “read” in the Tutorial index until the user relogs.

We are pleased you use this thread as a resource! Please keep in mind that every bug that we know about will not make it to this list. There are a few reasons why we may not put something on the list right away, even when we know about it:

1.
Exploits
. Even if we are aware of an exploit, we may exclude them from the list because we do not want players abusing these bugs before we are able to fix them.

2.
Bugs we are actively investigating but don't have a definitive "who, what, when, where, why" for.
Often, these types of issues will have their own thread or post where we are gathering information. Sometimes we know a bug is happening, but our first step is to acknowledge the bug in a separate thread and ask for more details to gather more information on the bug for the developers. Once we know enough to confidently say what the issue actually is, then it will be added to the Known Issues list if it doesn’t fall into one of the other categories.

3.
Performance issues.
Since we are continuously collecting data from players about anything performance related, these types of issues will generally have their own thread in the Customer Support forums where we can ask players to post logs, dxdiags, etc, to help the developers.

4.
It doesn’t affect gameplay enough, and the list needs to be kept to a reasonable size.
Generally, this will include bugs with art (floating rock!), typos, voice overs, sound effects, and other small things. However, there will always be exceptions to this, especially when the bug is related to combat.

Hopefully this helps you understand how we decide what goes on the Known Issues.
