sithsurvives
This is a short idea I wrote a while ago on my bounty hunter's last confrontation with Tarro Blood, the main antagonist in the Prologue and First chapter in Star Wars: The Old Republic's initial level 1-50 release. sithsurvives
Tarro Blood Zarutha cringed at the thought of it. She hated the offer he had made her, because she knew that she should take it, but out of her associate's agenda, she didn't want to. Tarro Blood was an overconfident, egotistical, pretentious excuse for a Mandolorian. He was cocky, over eager, and naive. If his skills with a blaster happened to be as good as his mouth's aptitude to talk more trash in one minute, than a two-headed Gammorean, then Zarutha was in for a challenge. Zarutha knew that she had to make him pay for what she did to Mako and her 'family'. He stole the life of the only father figure she ever had, and nearly screwed her chances at actually having a life worth living for. Mako would have hit rock bottom if Zarutha hadn't taken her on the Great Hunt, and they had become the best of friends. Sisters, even. Zarutha couldn't imagine her life without her in it, now. So why was it so difficult to take the easy way out? Tarro Blood plead for a traditional Mandolorian spar of honour, from inside his cell on the Republic cruiser ship. Blood was already caged, broken by pathetic republic soldiers, and had spent no time showing any honour at any point through Zarutha's and Mako's trifles with him. Why should Zarutha show him any? Zarutha felt conflicted about this, as although she lived by her own rules, her own code, it was one of honour, even to the unworthy. Mako, on the other hand, wished to leave him to die. "He doesn't deserve honourable combat, he killed Braden!" Zarutha knew that was what Mako would say to her. Zarutha continued to cringe, unsure what to do. Should she accept Blood's offer, and risk argument from Mako? Or should she break her code, and deem it necessary for Blood to die, given the circumstances? She could still hear Mako in her head. "He got his idiot lackeys to shoot Braden and Jori! He didn't even have the guts to do it himself. Just leave him here." Zarutha knew that Mako was just trying to avenge Braden and Jori, but would two wrongs make a right? But Zarutha had to follow her heart. And so, tensing up, she put it clearly to the failed and soon-to-be-dead 'Mandolorian'. "Goodbye, Blood." She walked off with her trusty slicer, feeling that she had made the right decision. Professionalism in a job can only take you so far. At one point or another, a hunter has to get personally vested in a situation.
Lunafox
Zarutha made the right choice. It is quite a dilemma, though, after what that guy puts the bounty hunter and Mako through. I enjoyed the entry very much, thank you for that!
bartpkelly
I left him in his cell but when I was running back to my ship I stopped off at his cell to make sure he was still in it and going down with the ship. He wasn’t in his cell!
