But I've only managed to get that once, after countless tries. Is there any way at all to "tell" what you'll get from missions? Or it's literally random? Thanks. You can increase the crit chance by increasing your companions affection for you. The higher the affection, the larger the crit chance bonus. Affection also decreases the chance for your companion to fail in a mission. Unfortunately, I don't know the exact numbers when it comes to affection/crit chance bonus. Larkie Posted January 13, 2012 Share Posted January 13, 2012 Eh..I got a lot more purple materials in the first week to two weeks of the game than I do now. I actually didn't realize they were rare because of this. My companions definitely liked me less back then. And yes, I am referring to the same level of materials that I was doing back then.
