Talon_Starfire
How is this spec for PvP / PvE http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#200ZfhrRkfMRrkZf0c.2 ? Thanks
Xethis
That spec is fine for new Assassins. I would recommend going through a few of the threads on the first few pages of the Assassin forums. I would focus in on the ones that have [Guide} in the title.
nitthunt
How is this spec for PvP / PvE http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#200ZfhrRkfMRrkZf0c.2 ? Thanks You want something like this. Dont waste time looking for the main build on forums. Noxxic has been amazing for other mmos and has been great with star wars as well. http://www.noxxic.com/swtor/pve/sith-inquisitor/sith-assassin/deception/talent-builds

There's plenty of good guides on the forums (especially for shadows/sins). I'd suggest reading Wakalord's guide or Shinarika's one. Or actually just read both. ElitehunterDS
Static Cling and Magnetism are a waste in pve. You want something like this. Dont waste time looking for the main build on forums. Good luck with that!
Exiled-Phoenix
Static Cling and Magnetism are a waste in pve. lol Charge mastery instead of Chain shock.. Good luck with that! Combined with 3 points in Thrashing blades and 2 points in electric execution, it'll even out (or even be better) and be more substained which is better for PvE. Not from my test Chain Shock will always be better than Charge mastery.
Stealios
On top of that, I'd say 3 points in obfuscation is a bit useless as well if it's only for PvE. If you really want to run a full deception spec in pve it should probably be 2/31/8 with trashing blades & chainshock.

Stealios
It's for both PvP & PvE. Why is it best to go Deception first? I never said it's best to go Deception first, I just said that if you necessarily want to play full deception, you should go 2/31/8. How about this for pvp? http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#200bZfMrRkfrRboZf0c.2 I would advise in taking points in obfuscation and not in static cling or insulation. But I'm no expert. Probably best if you just read wakaworld's pvp guide for assassin specs.http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=548258
Cowflab
It's for both PvP & PvE. Why is it best to go Deception first? I would not advice starting your gear grind as deception unless you run with a premade or you have a lot of patience. Deception is heavily gear dependant and you will be quite squishy until you are in at least full BM. Your burst(which is really one of the only benefits of deception builds) will be pretty lack luster as well. If you are gearing through solo queues then you may want to spec either full darkness, or a darkness hybrid until you've cleared most of your recruit pieces. Once you hit a good mix of BM/WH gear, you start to see the benefits of a full deception spec. If dying very quickly and kill sniping being your only true means of downing your opponents doesn't bother you, then roll deception from the start though.
