Also if you would be interested when 4.0 comes out would you be up for a TS meeting with me to kinda test out some of the Guardians dps capabilities ?

also I wouldn't worry, I hate parsing. I can only handle so much a week.

haha would be interesting to work with a talented guardian and see what we both think on 4.0 launch (please bioware make guardians more viable :p)

I am acutally confused with these specs, I mean does it even need crit? cause I have looked at what you get as you level and nothing increases crit damage, so I would think that a 25% chance to crit is bad compared to a solid and reliable damage increase.

Juggernaut - Vengeance || Guardian - Vigilance

5030 DPS | 4037 (3xAug) Strength | 2042 Power | 122 Critical | 338 (4xAug) Surge | 688 (4xAug) Alacrity | 756 (3xAug) Accuracy

 

And are they any good for a real ops environment? If not, what should I aim for instead?

Personally i felt the lack of crit hurt our dps output allot tbh

Not enough alacrity for my tastes, the amount I run is specific in that it fits perfectly for torque, you can sustain an uninterrupted opener regardless of commando buff.

212(24.2%) crit,

480 surge(72,26%),

676 alac(7,9%),

772 acc(110,14%, 1 augment)

1925 power and 3811 strength

 

And since I'm only 2 mods away from full 198(missing a 204 dps mainhand, but have a tank one) I'd like to know how to really min-max my gear. Any suggestions on what to change?

I don't run the alacrity build, and I still have a192 mainhands, but the stats I run are

 

270 crit (24.82%)

360 surge(69.10%)

120alacrity(1.69%)

772acc(100.14%)

1989 power, 3811 strength

That is completely BIS except for mainhand

I personally run a adapted alacrity build

333 crit (26.18%)

464 surge (71.89%, 2 augments+3 enhancement) considering to replace augments with power but best results till now were with this

708 alacrity (8.22%, 9 augments + 2 enhancements)

756 acc (3 augments + 5 enhancements/imp/ear)

1824 Power and 3837 strenght

I'm new to the Jugg class (I main sorc heals) so I have a few questions about the "optimal" stats posted here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=821885

 

Complete 198 + 204MH build has: 122 crit

Complete 192 + 192MH has: 0 crit

I realise that the optimal stats are theoretical so can you explain why you tend to use higher crit over lower alacrity? Should there be an absolute minimum amount of crit that I should have then?

No such thing EVER as an absolute minimum or maximum.

 

I tend to approach my melee dps like I approach my healers, whatever affords me better uptime and better damage in the damage window I am targeting, is better.

 

anywhere from 100-500 will be fine critwise, alacrity is help yourself to however much you can handle and work from there. It's very much a skill level stat.
