This is regarding a companion who you got through the Alliance System that does not belong to your class. (Example: A Sith Warrior recruiting Lokin, or an Imperial Agent recruiting Pierce)

When placing them in your stronghold as a deco, they appear completely naked (even if they are wearing their default outfits on their gear screen). When summoned as a companion, they appear fine.

Is this universal, or is it actually working correctly for anyone?
