Quick question

 

I'm pretty deep into Artificing, and notice that all of the blue crystals are forbidden to dark-side players. I'd like my saber to match my skills and clothing, but bleh. Are there any blue dark-side crystals from any source?

No, I do not believe so. All blue and green blades are forbidden to dark side characters.

You can find a blue lightsaber here and there that does not have a light/dark requirement. But you wont be able to switch out to a better blue.

Just because you are Sith on the Empire doesn't mean you need to be on the dark side, same as the opposite for the Republic for red colors.

So, as a sith what colors are avalible to us? I've only seen red. Even in pvp. Wait i take that back i saw ONE yellow last night. (Also how do we get different colors?)

Basically everything EXCEPT red/blue/green is open to everyone. Orange and Yellow are absolutely available, and craftable, while Purple and others are a hot debate. Red is dark siders only, blue and green are light siders only, and as previously stated Light and Dark does not necessarily mean Empire or Republic, as players from each side can choose light or dark options.

 

Edit to clarify that red is forbidden to light siders, while blue and green are forbidden to dark siders; neutral folks can use any and all!

I found a removable blue crystal available to dark from one of the higher end accommodation vendors in one of the sabers they sell.

 

I do not think a blue for dark is craftable however. Hopefully they will eventually let crafters make a multitude of crystal colors not available at an NPC.

So if i'm going dark side (I'm right around teir 3) i'm still good to get like yellow or ... whatever other colors are there? (except blue/green)

You can also use orange as well.

Live a neutral life(under 1k on light or dark after subtraction),sure it means less vendor benefits, but you keep full access to to Light(blue and green) and Dark(red) crystals. If you are a little dark, then be VERY good to get under 1k dark/vice versa . If you are level 50, i think you are stuck, unless repeatable quests are giving of light dark each time I haven't re-done Black talon, so unsure on this, if anyone wants to chime in.

Was disappointed enough that the pre-order crystal is only low level, having little choice in saber colors blows.

yea that sucks, light side gets all sorts of green and blue, dark siders get red. yellow is open to all, orange is only available at high lvls, purple is super rare and of course the rumor of a white is out there somewhere.
