Hard to bribe people to queue ranked. Hard enough to actually get one pop, after all. Also people will still just queue regular as groups most of the time, an ability that will never go away. Edited May 16, 2014 by Verain

I have a mouse with a bunch of buttons that I can configure and a good mousepad. I have a solid machine to play it on, and an internet connection that is decent. Someone without those things is at a disadvantage too, and guess what?

Whining? You are the one claiming something isn't fair, trying to remove teamwork, complain complain complain. This is like your #1 issue, you and a few others who always cry about it. Maybe one of you should get a ventrilo and then you can go there and complain about how awful it is to have to play with other players in a team game, and then maybe you'll accidentally group up or something.

I would agree with you Verain, if the community was larger, or we had cross-server, and we had matchmaking. As it is, I do believe there is a strong argument that can be made regarding removing group queues from the game. I think more people, overall, would have a more enjoyable experience.

 

The other issue is of course queue priority. People in groups get in games faster -- they're having their cake and eating it too. Were you on 5 mins before they were? Yup, but too bad, you have to wait longer.

I used to queue in groups when I was still Pot5 and Black Squadron and the burgers were doing their damnedest to kill the game on that server. But really wheres the joy in fights that you will always be turning into a N on 1 focus.

Better off making all people use one (solo only) queue... groups are the worst problems atm.

My favorite part of gsf is coordinating/communicating with my team that I have been playing with for over 5 months. I actually would love a second q for ranked, which would essentially be the group q you are looking for, there just isn't enough players on any server I have played on to make that work sadly.

 

I really don't like how because were good and friends and play the way we want to play were looked down upon from others like all we want to do is grind everyone into the ground. I actually prefer the tough matches, but in some others ideal world I should play in a manner that is less fun to me just so I get more of these tough matches. The matches were I'm with my team and coordinating and its close are so much more fun for me then solo q ing into a game where it's tough. I'd rather play more games with my friends chatting with them and having fun then solo q all day anytime. I'm sorry if some people don't understand this.

The fact is, good pilots solo queue sometimes too. So no, some unwarranted statement about NEEDING to group to eat food is just a baseless attack at players who aren't currently whining- you imply that we need to group up to eat food. Obviously not.

The game isn't going to be improved by any ideas that involve removing the core playerbase, no. If you think it's poor sportsmanship to play a team game as a team, well, whatever, sure thing buddy. Go to like ESPN forums and complain that it's a stomp when you try to go solo versus a football team or whatever.

I group with a Gunsheep, does that count? I treat him like a human being, congratulate him on kills, pet him and trim him from time to time. On occasion he gets a bit unruly and argues with residents like Renegade-one and such.

I get it. I understand it. I do. It doesn't mean I have to like it. It doesn't mean it's what is best for the game, overall.

They are old ideas that may have left the world. Really I find Verrain's comments much like asking why doesn't my America's cup yacht have torpedo launchers and Harpoon missiles to better win the race, surely if you can afford the yacht you can afford some ordnance ?

I sort of don't care. If you beat someone in pvp, they will say ANYTHING to excuse themselves. Why should this be any different?

 

I mean, could you picture this kind of "ban grouping" crap in like, WoW, or LoL, or Starcraft? No one would take it seriously there either.

Nope, because those games have communities that are large enough to support it.

 

Also, in those games you can have big groups, you're not limited to 4 like in this game.

To be fair, I'm not sure how any of us are friends with Verain. I think it's because we queue in premades. The games are so easy that we place all our effort into maintaining some semblance of friendship with him. I'm not sure how it works! We manage, though.
