Expertise's impact on Shadow Technique ??

hello,

I've been wondering what Expertise of the Kinetic Combat tree exactly does with Shadow Technique of the Infiltration tree?

Expertise [Kinetic Combat]

Increases the damage dealt by your techniques by 6%.

Shadow Technique [infiltration]

Instant

Assumes a shadow technique, giving your attacks a 25% chance to deal 647 internal damage and build 1 Breaching Shadow. Breaching Shadows stack up to 3 times and increase the damage dealt by your next Force Breach. This effect cannot occur more than once every 4.5 seconds. Requires a double-bladed lightsaber or electrostaff. Does not break Stealth.

Question:

Shadow Technique grants a 25% chance of 647 internal damage and adding here the 6% from Expertise is easy to imagine but what about the rest stated in the Shadow Technique description?

Will make Expertise the Force Breach (Read Shadow Technique description) ability 6% stronger as well ?

No, Breach damage is not technique damage, though it is technique dependent.

^^ what the guy above me said. basically Expertise is solely based on the damage your technique does (ie Combat/Shadow/Force technique all have a chance to trigger x amount of damage), not the damage of other abilities while in that technique if that makes sense. From what i've seen, ppl either max out the points in it (3 points in Expertise gives you a 18% damage boost to your techniques instead of just 6%) or ignore it completely for other points in other trees. You can do well with or without it.

It really isn't worth much except for parsing, IMO -- it's worthless for tanking, and for DPS purposes, it's marginal.

It's actually taken as Balance Shadow, and i'm tempted to take 2 points into it when 2.10 comes out because Claravoyant Strike is getting a Force Cost reduction with no damage nerf, that and Claravoyance is giving a 25% increase to the chance you proc Shadow Technique, so it may be worth it to take Expertice/Electric Exectution at least 2 points into it because we cant sacrifice a 3rd point because of Force Synergy, though... we could sacrifice that point... it's only 9% extra Melee Crit which, i already have 30% Melee crit purely from gear and buffs... hmm... this may open a new build for Infil Shadow in 2.10. Since they are reducing the Cost of Claravoyant Strike to 23 at base, we shouldnt 100% need Psychokenesis, though the lower Force Cost on Project could come into play... It's worth testing if the DPS increase from having 3 Points in Expertise is worth it versus having better Force managment and slightly higher Melee crit.

Edit: While i cant test on the PTS if this build is viable, i can atleast put it up there. This build would have better Force managment, if you wanted higher Melee Crit you could take 2 points in Force Synergy.

I'm pretty sure it won't be worth it. 9% bonus crit on Shadow Strike and Clairvoyant Strike is huge, and while Shadow Technique isn't insignificant, it does far less damage than the other two, and I'm pretty sure that 18% more on 5% of our damage is less than ~7% more on ~40% of our damage.
