See this again:

When other sorcerers "bubble" me it prevents me using my own awesome shield (I use Lightning barrier and Corrupted Barrier) for their crappy bubble. Even if I get rid of theirs I still have the enforced cooldown before I can re-shield myself to contend with  It is very annoying!

100% agree.

I can look after my own bubble. If a Sorc can’t bubble themselves, then they don’t know how to play their class.

If you cast a bubble on a jugg that just popped Enraged Defense

(2 min CD: You are granted with 12 stacks of Enraged Defense, each stack is spent when you take damage and heals you significantly. This cooldown can be life saving in certain situations (Especially when you are taking heavy periodic damage). It is also quite useful if you are tanking an add or a boss and you want to ensure your survival.

and that bubble absorbs 25-30k damage, then you just negated that amount of healing from that ability.

Sorry, what? Bubble absorbs 12-15k damage. Even if it did prevent Enraged Defense, the amount of healing lost would be unrelated to the amount of damage absorbed by the bubble. But to my knowledge it doesn't prevent it from triggering anyway. Here are 2 lines from a combat log that show it:

[14:49:08.698] [@Paypel] [@Paypel] [Focused Defense {2793700132388864}] [ApplyEffect {836045448945477}: Heal {836045448945500}] (9468)
[14:49:08.698] [@Opponent] [@Paypel] [Weaken Mind {812861215473664}] [ApplyEffect {836045448945477}: Damage {836045448945501}] (2101* internal {836045448940876} (2101 absorbed {836045448945511})) <2101>

Focused Defense heal triggered from a dot tick that was fully absorbed by the bubble.

Sorry for offtopic. I have my own opinions about OP's issues, but I'm only posting because of Cunningham's Law.

Those numbers I posted were arbitrary numbers. It was to emphasize a point.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see anything in those 2 lines about static shield or force armor. I see focused defense, a single heal proc from focused defense, then weaken mind with 2 damage ticks then being absorbed (which could have come from the the offhand shield or armor or the sorc placing it having low accuracy). It says nothing about force armor or static shield. In the case posting because of Cunningham's Law, your post fits the bill since it's incorrect.

It's pretty significant to be off by a factor of 2. Imagine saying Death Field / Force in Balance hits for 30k.

The 2 log lines actually provide all the relevant info. There was a single Weaken Mind hit, it did connect, it was fully absorbed and it caused a Focused Defense heal. The heal seems to happen before the dot tick, but it has the same timestamp so there's no doubt what caused it.

Did you mean the shield/absorb with the offhand? That's represented differently, the lines include "Shielded" then. Absorb in combat log is only for abilities that absorb a certain fixed amount of damage. You're right, I omitted the part where Force Armor is applied. That's because the game doesn't care what ability caused the absorb, they would all work the same, so I didn't find that part important. But if you're interested, here's the part of the log that you missed:

[14:48:53.335] [@Sage] [@Paypel] [Force Armor {812736661422080}] [ApplyEffect {836045448945477}: Force Armor {812736661422080}] ()

[14:49:06.293] [@Opponent] [@Paypel] [Weaken Mind {812861215473664}] [ApplyEffect {836045448945477}: Damage {836045448945501}] (1229 internal {836045448940876} (1228 absorbed {836045448945511})) <1229>
[14:49:07.197] [@Paypel] [@Paypel] [Focused Defense {2793700132388864}] [Event {836045448945472}: AbilityActivate {836045448945479}] ()
[14:49:07.197] [@Paypel] [@Paypel] [Focused Defense {2793700132388864}] [ApplyEffect {836045448945477}: Focused Defense {2793700132388864}] ()
[14:49:08.698] [@Paypel] [@Paypel] [Focused Defense {2793700132388864}] [ApplyEffect {836045448945477}: Heal {836045448945500}] (9468)
[14:49:08.698] [@Opponent] [@Paypel] [Weaken Mind {812861215473664}] [ApplyEffect {836045448945477}: Damage {836045448945501}] (2101* internal {836045448940876} (2101 absorbed {836045448945511})) <2101>

There was no other damage before Weaken Mind.

There is no class in the game that is "cut off" from endgame.

Then explain me this why does alot of clans dsoent invites sorceres on EU realms into high end ops? you know what they say? they say sorcerers are weak. and becasue of that sorcerers/sages are locked out mostly form high end ops. and thats a fact. and i am not the only one who is experiancing this in this game. so dont say that okay? i dont know what realm you are playing on where sorc/sages are welcome on every dificulities but on most EU realms are not. so what you said its a lie. Even my guilds complains to me about why i keep playing with sorc/sage while bioware made it ****? and not just my guild is cutting off sorc/sages but others as well. And becasue of this alot of players are siriusly dissapointed, while other Rangeds are over performing, with mele classes. And i am sorry if i refuse if i dont follow the fashion standrats to only play the most powerful class in the game, while i am not enyjoing the game with class, and i am sorry if i refuse to put my sorc on teh shelf, and i fight and request for the class buff. if thats a problem for anyone simply dont comment on this topic. Also who teh hell cares about bubbles? while the class damage is on the bot of the dps list for more then 2 + years. thats more concerning i thing then talking about boubles lol.

Maybe they think the player is a crappy sorc/sage and they don't want to carry.

Or maybe they just want an easy run without having to guess how good you are on your sorc.

But if anyone is denying you for a HM op, then the group is probably trash.

i realy wish that would be the case but sadly it isn't. the elitism is so wast against sorceres/sages are disgustingly runis the whole gaming experiance, due to teh fact that the sorcerers as dps in pve are at the bottom of the dps list for as i read almost 3 years now in prior. it is a huge let down and the ingame player base in EU is wastly against sorcerers players is utterly cutting off players who wish to play as sorcerers/sages from the game it forms an utter disgusting behaviour between players. This must be stoped by doing so Bioware MUST buff sorc/sage dps specs including balance/madness, lightning/telekinetics as well. Most players calls sorc/sage dps in ops as off healers in dps spec. it is disgusting.

It is the first time I play a sage (balance); I am lvl 54 atm on Corellia and this class is absolutely unplayable w/o a companion. Pls note I am talking about PVE as this class is so weak that I would never dream of PVP with it. I literally die within seconds w/o a companion. In fact that is the reason the companions have such a high amount of armor and dps (to make up for a very weak sage). Someone at Bioware really dislikes the consular class. Ironically my character would never stand against any of my companions in an actual fight. How lame is that?

It's funny how to me Balance Sage is the easiest class to play with a DPS companion (meaning, I take almost all all damage, I sustain myself) or without it completely, it makes almost no difference as he just helps with DPS. Even during heroics it's enough for me to just run a tank companion. Basically, I never use a healer companion on a Balance Sage unless doing some Master mode chapter or something. The spec has so much self healing, it's nuts. The only one that is close is Ruffian scoundrel with it's free Kolto pack or commando specced into all the OP utilities.

So, all I am saying is that in right hands Balance Sage is one of the best self sustained classes. Basically, if you are dying as Balance Sage during whatever you are doing without your companion, there are 2 options:

1) This content is not meant to be done purely solo. If Balance sage can't do it, no DPS spec can, except, probably, commando. So, it's not the problem with the class.

2) You are just not good enough with the class/not geared enough (being lvl 54 does make your defenses quite a bit more limited. Still, if we are talking about just some story quests that you are doing solo, it's you, not the class).

I literally die within seconds w/o a companion

Do you start the fight with Force Armor on you? Do you use Rejuvenate for the self healing and armor boost? Are you specced into Damage reduction and self healing utilities? Are you using Force Serenity basically on cooldown?

Again, from what I understand, you are just doing story quests on Corellia as a lvl54. There is no way you should be having such troubles. Check if your gear isn't 30 levels behind, check if it isn't damaged.
