lol. It is far too mysterious how they go about some of these things. I don't think any other classes have these questionable relationships. It also still bugs me that Samara doesn't sleep with aliens but she never actually outright says it. It's just weird quest writing and it feels incomplete. Maybe they're meant to reflect the ficklness of real women.

And I think human is different. I heard you can hook up with her as early as DK with a human and that she kisses you in the middle of the office. (Rather than sneaking back to a corner and looking all guilty.) But I haven't been able to find it. Boo.
Again, I'll believe it when I see it. I've never actually heard any of this, people could be trolling. Not that I'd think that was bad, I'm just shocked at how subtly they play up this anti-alien bias in the story.

Well, Jonas Balkar and Jaxo in trooper are pretty close to the crew. (Although you can't sleep with Jonas as a female trooper. Bitter forever over that one...) So they do have a few, which I love. It makes sense that your crewmates aren't your only possible romance options. (Plus, irritating Aric by flirting with Jonas Balkar and making him apologize cracks me up forever.)

I actually liked that Samara didn't sleep with aliens. It makes a certain amount of sense that some people just aren't going to get over their biases no matter what. (And, to be honest, it makes more sense that it would be women than men, seeing as arguably women have more to lose from sex thanks to the joys of pregnancy. And despite the supposed "genders are equal in TOR", particularly in agent, there seemed to be this idea that women were somewhat harder to get than men.)

My little brother said that he hooked up with her after the last quest in DK, for what it's worth. (And this was post beta.) And I saw a screen shot somewhere or other of W2 kissing the male agent. (Which she doesn't do for an alien - I think she pulls him off into a corner and invites him back to her house, but is looking very guilty the whole while.) So I suspect it is possible, but haven't found the Youtube footage to confirm. *sigh*

I love all of the anti-alien bias. It's really well done. I especially love that there are a few instances where, if you're Chiss, you can come right out and say, "Look, I'm not like the *rest* of those disgusting aliens. I'm one of the *good* aliens." It seems very realistic, if rather sad.

I agree, I think I didn't clarify what I was saying well...I meant I didn't like how you kind of have to guess that's the issue....like if I hadn't read these forums, I would have no idea that Samara would sleep with a human. Otherwise I'd just take it at face value, that she knew I was after her father and not her, because that's all she says. Although she does hint at being "racist" with her "oh, don't see too many aliens around here without an escort, you must be special". But do you see what I mean....people who are less observant probably don't realize this variation exists.

I'd love to see this...it's got my curiosity piqued.. Yeah, if you're alien it has a really weird vibe to it....no kiss, the camera angle is kind of looking down..she's looking down, behind her, like, "crap, I hope nobody is watching this".

I guess I could roll a human and just see for myself...but 3 agents is enough for now....maybe another time >.<

EDIT OMG OMG I FINDS IT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iswAC4wRcI0

That is....really different....crazy

To be fair, it may be less racism than it is the knowledge that an alien really wouldn't be there without an agenda. So when she sees an attractive human, she's all "Oh yeah..." while an alien promptly sparks her curiosity and suspicion. It's hard to tell. But it is a really interesting variation.

OMG. That is so weird. It's like someone has stolen W2's personality and replaced it by someone who's all friendly and warm, responds instantly to flirting, and doesn't call him a dirty alien once.

Pfft. I feel sort of insulted on my male agent's behalf. (He did finally get her into bed, but it was obvious she was feeling all guilty and then never brought it up again.) Oh well. Maybe I'll just decide that he's in love with Hunter now. After all, despite frequent attempts at killing him, Hunter never called him a dirty alien once. Poor guy. He has a lot of problems.

Very interesting variant. Now I want to try a human. *sigh* But so do not need a third agent...

.
Also, I noticed that this conversation occurs right after Jadus's ship gets blown up....not at the end of Chapter 1 like I experienced. Which makes me wonder what happens with human characters at THAT point.
The conversation after that initial even she was even more stand-offish ("I uh, respect you and all but we're not compatible in the least!")

I don't mind the relationship not going anywhere....but like I said, I feel like there's something missing, some closure, some honest conversation.

ps - She said it was "nice" to the human, but she said it was "lovely" to the dirty alien. Take that human agent!

Yeah, I'm curious as well. Like, I'd imagine that if they don't hook up with Kaliyo that there's still the possibility of hooking up at the end of Chapter One. But...I'd imagine that they don't just reuse the same scene as it would be really, really weird to have her looking all guilty about going back to her apartment with someone who she'd kissed in the middle of intelligence. And I wonder how she flirts throughout the game...seeing as a lot of the stand offish behavior doesn't make much sense, I'd think, after that...(Or maybe that is it...which would be weird as well. I suppose it's possible that being human means no end of Act 1 romance...)

I do agree that the "relationship" such as it is is missing a lot of closure. I heard from someone that W2 ended it by saying that "this is inappropriate, seeing as I'm now your boss". But I never got that. And either way, she's not your boss by the end of Act 3. (So it does feel like things could potentially resume if the agent hasn't married Temple or Kaliyo.)

Hmmm...you're right regarding "nice" vs. "lovely". My agent's honor is restored. (Plus, I kind of prefer the whole, "slowly winning her over" vs. "eh, I'm kind of lonely and I guess intelligence approves so why not?" anyway.)

Then again, head-canon is now going to be that W2 promptly finds a new, human boyfriend after Act 3. Poor agent learns and is heart broken. Tries to have a conversation with Vector, which of course quickly dissolves into nonsense. (As Vector is Vector.) Eventually Kaliyo comes along and is all, "Let's cut that witch". (Since, she's Kaliyo and has been wanting to knife W2 since they met.) Poor agent goes out to her apartment in a humans only part of town, all planning to have a stern talk, and instead collapses in tears and sings Star War's version of "I will always love you" before being asked to leave by the authorities.

Now that should make things awkward the next day at work...

Ineresting. On my second agent toon now and got the first fling but not until after chapter 1 (notice video guy is level 13). Dialog was a little different too. Haven't been flirting with any of my companions on this toon so curious to see how this all pans out. For the record both of my agents are human.

Well, that is interesting. So maybe there is more to it than just your species. Though I can assure you after trying three times that I have never been able to get that flirt at level 13 as an alien. Unless something was changed in the game, I'm certainly mystified by how romantic conversations occur differently. Like in my recent thread about Temple and Kaliyo and how for the first time out of 3 Agents I had Kaliyo confront me about Temple, rather than the other way around.

I'm hoping you come back and explain what happens, since that is curious...

Well I can confirm that I hooked up with Watcher Two on DK on my Human IA. Right after you finish the last class quest there involving the crash and tie up everything you and her go "console" each other.
