One server per data centre I say. Seeing as how you are all ok with a single data centre you should be content with one server as well. Either that or re-introduce your second data centre. i would argue that having two servers for just the east coasters is pretty greedy.

Maybe a lot of ranked pvpers are actually focused on gearing 1st?

The more likely scenario given the content just released. Also some pvpers pve as well and could just be taking a pvp break with the new pve stuff. Considering the number of instances on Ossus server populations isnt the issue

As for the attitude towards the pvp community by the RP and PVEers; you lot are exactly the same when it comes to the ME ME ME attitude. You clearly could not give a damn if the entire pvp community was removed from the game. Shame on you for advocating that one player demographic has no new content while you reap the rewards for yourselves. As a pvper I have never advocated that Bioware stop putting out story content or PVE content just because I don't participate in it. Yes you are right, the pvp community has some toxic a**holes in it. From what I have seen though the PVE community is no different. Undesirable people infest every single demographic of this game. Grow some thick skin and utilize that ignore button; that's what it's there for.

Fleet is not an indication of server health. It's an indication that people don't have anything they want to do.
Thinking about subbing? Use this link to help us both out http://www.swtor.com/r/3txb7F

Its fairly toxic how some of these "pve rp's" act. Judging by the nasty attitude they exhibit here I can understand more of why this game is in the condition that its in.

Having said that I would not have any issue with having 2 split servers if this game had cross server pvp ques. Unlike these vile responders in this thread, I understand that its not a fun thing to go thru a server merger for a lot of the community. I'm not un sympathetic towards the inconvenience it causes everyone. However not having a cross server queue system is not my fault. And unfortunately for me and a large part of this games community that little fact is a huge inconvenience when server populations drop like they recently have in this game once again.

All I am saying is that we are at a cross roads in the current condition of this game. Either we inconvenience everyone briefly for a server merge and restore some balance with what is left of a shrinking player base or we just leave it alone, not address it and watch 2 server populations dissolve rapidly from the lack of a brief inconvenience.

Do not get mad at me because this game has a queue system designed pvp system without a cross server system. Its not my fault. Your taking your anger out on the wrong person. I'm just saying there is a way to bandage that wound of not having a server to server system by merging the last of only 2 east coast servers.

There is no reason to split the player base at this point. Both servers are east coast and out of the same server base location. This honestly isn't brain surgery like I said in my title. At this point its just people being stubborn, planting their feet in the ground and mindlessly saying NO. Both players and developers. There is no other logic aside from that.

Er, what? You think *we* had a choice? The devs didn't even tell the playerbase that the servers were both going to be on the east coast until after it was done and a lot of people were and still are very unhappy with it.

But hey, thanks for calling the NA players greedy for something we had absolutely no say in.

As always happens, the PVP based server's population peeters out and wants to merge for pops. What's to say there will be more pvp pops, when you merge with a server where people aren't interested in pvp? I don't think you'll see much if any improvement. It'll only serve to annoy and inconvenience people again for little if any benefit to pvpers.

So I can see this devolving into a hateful finger pointing mess again, with pvpers wanting a merge for pops, everyone else be damned, while rp'ers and pvers won't want a merge. Inevitably it will happen, I suppose that they will merge them at some point, but if Star Forge's atmosphere is ruined, how many will leave then? I saw first hand how pvpers treated rper's and pvers after the merge on SF. Heck they tried to shoo us off our own server. I really don't want to be treated like a second class citizen on my own server again.

Once again you are the voice of reason. I play on Star Forge and when the merge happened RPers were treated very poorly. I do not RP but I found myself defending them in chat. As for pvp que times being slow it is also the time of year where people are spending time with their families and going on vacations. I playin a guild that regularly has 30 plus people on and we have about half that right now due to it being the holidays and people doing other stuff. Slow pops do not necessarily mean low population numbers.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but gamers in general are toxic. It's not "PVPers" or "PVE'ers" it's people and not one type is worse than the other.

In fact the most toxic, nasty, greedy awful community I ever been a part of was a solely PVE sector on EQ1. The raid scene was hands down by far the most toxic and disgusting show of human beings I ever seen on a game.
