Arstechnica
I always seen jugs to be more aggressive and war like, why use a butterfly to symbolize this class? I had to make a female Jug just so I can get my mind around the purple butterfly. But at least now, it kind of matches.
Equeliber
To me it looks like a shield of sorts. Tbh half of the class symbols are hard to explain. Sage/sorc and sniper/gunslinger are obvious. Mara - 2 lightsabers crossed I guess. The rest? No idea. Edited June 25, 2017 by Equeliber

Diplomaticus
Oh, I think it does look MORE like a butterfly than a shield (the jugg one, not the guard one obviously). Just interpret it as an idol to Itzpapalotl, the Aztec obsidian skeletal butterfly goddess of fire and death. That's pretty Sith-like in my book. ButeoRegalis
Float like a butterfly, slaughter them like a rage-fueled, unstoppable killing machine. I don't see how this is hard to understand?

Arlanon
You know the style of armor that Darth Baras wears? You may see occasional players wearing it too. It's modelled after that. Which is strange, considering that it is light armor.

sayNih
It's a rorschach test. We see our inner struggle. I see a pretty butterfly...covered in purple blood...but not IT"s blood...someone else's!
cool-dude
It's a shield with two swords/light-sabers crossing each other behind it. Edited August 3, 2017 by cool-dude
IoNonSoEVero
I've always thought it was two birds, back to back, like they would be on a crest. The two points near the tops look like beaks to me. Which doesn't necessarily match the Jugg either but a lot of countries use eagles and other birds of prey as national symbols or symbols of strength, so I figured that was it. Augsust
I've always thought that it was a stylized suit of armor. SWs are very armor-y.
Arstechnica
Hmmm, birds... butterflies... clearly there is something wrong with that symbol. The only thing that isn't up for interpretation is the color, but even that opens more questions then answers.
