Swtor 2 and the next expansion

What if you found out that Bioware were planning a massive expansion that was codenamed SWtOR 2 - because of the extensive improvements that were planned. The development was estimated to take about 5 years, rather than start from scratch, the decision made is to instead do: Level 65-100

 

what would you hope would be included in this game? and how should it be done. Bear in mind, the idea is to leave the missions and flashpoints of level 1-65 unchanged. Level 65 onwards is anybodies guess, the whole system could change, combat, everything from that point on. Furthermore, there would be an option to start from level 65 onwards if you have at least 1 character that reached level 65.

 

Feel free to propose all you want, from space games to force jumping & flying in planets, land on planets, a new enhanced combat system, anything you want within reaon, bear in mind you will still have access to level 1-65 zones and nothing much would be done to those zones although planets like Coruscant and Drumond Kass may have more zones added to them.

Don't you mean level 55, then level 56 to 100.

 

1) I want class stories back. I'd pay another 75.00 for the deluxe edition

 

2) QOL improvements, guild capital ships etc

 

3) And last, more classes and species.

 

thanks btw, at least one answer not making me regret starting a topic on these forums. I meant level 65, becuase you should expect 2 mini Makeb-like expansions in the space of 5 years going from 55-60 and 60 to 65

we already have SWTOR 2.4

 

how about SWTOR 4.0 speculation

 

- 100+ star systems to fly around, mine trade combat, fully customizable ships

 

- landing on new added planets/ atmospheric flight

 

- Podracing, Pazaak, Casino

 

- Player bounties

 

- 3 massive open world sandbox planets added, Kashyyk, Dagobah and some weird named new planet

purpose: open world housing, exploring, "real" speeders with actual Star Wars behaviour, day/night/weather change

 

- 1 new sandbox planet added every year, with some themepark zones for dailies and the usual more of the same stuff

 

- 8 new professions to fit into the sandbox environments (Entertainer, Farmer, Animal trainer, furniture crafting, etc...)

 

 

AND GIVE EVERYONE THE BOOT WHO SUGGESTS TO ADD FUTURE "CLASS STORIES"

In 5 years you will "discover" girls and you won't care :p

 

We already exist and play this game. Shocking, isn't it?

 

On topic:

Get their act together about class stories, make them as interesting and as involved as the Imperial Agent, if not moreso.

Equal distribution of [Flirt] and romance options, across faction, class, gender and sexuality.

Character customisation (wibble)

 

Possibly alter the combat system slightly? More methods to dodge AoE and telegraphed attacks and the like? I don't really know, I mean, I've played GW2 and WoW, they're very different, I did like the way the dodges and stuff worked in GW2, but perhaps that sort of combat design doesn't allow for bigger group play? I like raids.

 

More nuanced class trees? It would probably make balance harder, though, if you could have ten different playstyles of one AC based on how the trees are designed and work together, and any update patch would result in far more threads of "Oh Em Gee Biofail! You borkded my class!", but... could be fun...

 

Scavenger hunt quests!

Not everyone agrees with you, you know that's ok, right? We're allowed to have differing opinions, but you just seem to be really angry that not everyone's agreeing with you.

How the hell does doing the same thing day in and day out have long term value? Really, think about it. If they continue to add stuff like Oricon and Makeb, they'll continue to loose subbers until the game fades away with F2P players.

They could easily add class stories without going overboard, all they need to do is add a few class specific mission givers, and a few new buildings.

 

You go upto the appropriate missions giver, the little triangle above them stays grey if your the wrong class, get the mission and go to a new building/doorway, and after that it's just like a regular mission. They don't even have to make them mandatory, we would gladly do them to continue the class stories, they just need some sort of overall arc. It would be no more complicated or costly than the bounty hunting events.

It's not just devising an easy way to develop a layout for the quests. It's doing more voice acting, calling in all the companions again to do more voice acting, with change in the script accounting for race, sex, flirts, and class itself.

 

Voice Acting is immensely expensive as they've said and they believe that money can be put to better use in long-term content like FPs and Ops, Warzones, new planets and what not.

 

Plus, they've said that the class story is basically the 'prologue' of the characters, bringing them to the present and giving them a foundation on which to build group story and content.

 

Given the choice, I'd rather see more Oricon, CZ-198 and Makeb and GS and not so much individual story content anymore.

I'd rather someone make a new SW MMO then keep this one going. SWTOR is a good game and people like to play it, but that's primarily because it's "Star Wars" imo.

 

There is sooo much potential for a SW MMO. Real open space. Large living open worlds. Vehicle usage in PvP.

 

SWTOR was a good attempt and I'm glad the game was made. A lot of lessons were learned.

According to bioware, the voice was not the expensive thing, it was more how they did it. THe extensive options and everything. SWtOR made the guiness world book of records .. a first in the entertainment industry.

I think SWTOR is a really good attempt, and shouldn't go, it just needs expansion to add all those things you've mentioned.. the game can go on.

 

I would think that they'd add a space game, where your ship continues to level, very EVE online/SWG kind, sandboxy, while the land game continues in a new light..

 

including vertical usage, large living open worlds, a much improved version of the current game, and by improvement. I mean things that weren't done before, like force jumps, actual rocket booster usage, improved combat animations and moves, hybrid classes

I just don't think EA is interested in those things. I think the engine they chose for this game also forever limits what they can do and add. I want a developer that makes SW their one priority.

I think people should stop expecting TOR to be whatever particular type of game that they're interested in, in the moment.

 

I think people should realize that it's unrealistic to expect an MMO designed like TOR to be a sandbox exploration MMO.

 

I think it's unrealistic to have expectations for this game to be everything to everyone and satisfying to no one at all.

I think it's unrealistic to expect Star War fans to not have expectations. But I'm glad Eric Musco agrees with you. That's good to know.

You are talking about a sandbox version of SW which I know you are hinting at SWG. Already been done and bombed. They couldn't even get 300k active subs and this was before WoW and all the other mmo's after. No thanks to another sandbox SW. For me anyways.
