Best way to farm credit? (heroics? weekly? daily? operations?)

There are several great ways to make credits these days. Heroics are always a good option, especially if you are max level as you'll earn more per quest. Also, if there are any bonus missions for a particular heroic, make sure you do that as well for more credits.

If you're a subscriber and have cartel coins, another way of getting credits is purchasing items that have a good cartel coin to credit ratio. Some decorations will go for a bit, as well as character slots and others. My advice for this method would be to first search the GTN to see what CM items are currently going for the most credits, and then see if you can purchase that item for a reasonable price from the CM.

Another note about heroics: if you have a higher level character (like 60 and above) you should be getting Alliance Crates for each heroic you complete. After you complete your heroics, you can turn those crates into the appropriate alliance specialists for a box of goodies. Mostly, these crates will contain legacy-bound, modable gear which you can either sell to a vendor for more credits or keep if you like. You'll also get some companion gifts as well. Depending on the gift, it may be practically worthless, or it may be worth 100K credits on the GTN.

If you're just looking for quick money, heroics are very convenient but can become a bit of a grind in the long run. Not all these methods are fast, but they should help you out. I've also attached a couple links at the bottom that may help you as well.

The first video is by swtorista who has absolutely fantastic videos about the game.

The second is by swtor tv who also puts a lot of helpful info out there as well.

Good Luck :)

Crafting is still the best means to earn credits in the game outside of buying cheap on the GTN and relisting for more (which requires a large bank) or purchasing from the Cartel Market and selling on the GTN. Of course the down side is that it takes both a time and credit investment to max out a crafting skill first.

You may not make a million per hour but with a maxed out crafter you can quite easily make millions per day.

Resource gathering and selling on the GTN is another good means of making credits, though less profitable than crafting. An hour long trip around the Yavin temple with the right gathering skills (archaeology & slicing) however easily translates to a few hundred thousand credits.

If you do Ranked PVP the dailies now award a high end crafting resource (Charged Matter Transubstantiator) that sells for around 2 to 3 million on the GTN.

If you're level 70 and start getting the Galactic Command crates, with each crate you're earn a certain amount of Command tokens that are used in the upgrading of gear, to purchase a buff for the rate at which you gain command XP, or to purchase another high end crafting mat called Iokath Recombinators. If you've got your toon in full best-in-slot gear, or just don't care about the Galactic Command gear treadmill, you can purchase the Iokath Recombinators and sell them on the GTN. A stack of 100 (requires around 600 Command tokens) sells for around 1.5 million. At the rate at which you gain Command tokens it's not a daily source of income but it is a nice extra if you're earning the Command tokens daily and have nothing better to spend them on. They also always sell fast as they are needed in every high end crafted augment, hilt, barrel, ect and crafters on the gear treadmill often prefer to spend credits than their command tokens.

Run the rotating events like Bounty Week or Rakghoul Resurgence when they come around. Each has it's own form of event currency that is used to purchase decos or cosmetic gear, and they can be used to earn credits if you're not interested in them. The completed bounty contracts that are earned from Bounty Week can be sold on the GTN at a couple hundred k each, and while the Rakghoul DNA Cannisters that are used for the Rakghoul event vendor can't be sold on the GTN, the gear they purchase can. The Black-Green lightsaber crystals from the event vendor go for between one and two million credits each. If you grind out the Heroic and Navigating the Tunnels daily, and infect 3 people with the Rakghoul plague, you'll have enough DNA cannisters (4) to purchase a crystal. The Operation boss awards 3. Running those daily with multiple characters translates into millions by the time the event ends. I once made 20,000,000 from Rakghoul Resurgence. (it is however a bit grindy)

What would you say is the most lucrative crafting skill to have? I have some skills maxed out but haven't ever seriously gotten into it to be honest.

The one crafting skill that most will say is the best for profit is artifice. Because of sheer volume of desirable items while there are a LOT of artificers, the competition between each one is mitigated.

that said, ALL crafting skills are profitable. ALL crafting skills have items they craft - available from the trainers - that are sought by those who do not wish to be bothered. Tippy top end game schematics are NOT required to profit,

If you want learn more I have linked several guides I have written in my signature.

Although I've yet to create a toon with Biochem I suspect that is probably a very good one to have. The skill buff stims they make are always in high demand (I'm one of the Biochem crafters' frequent customers) and of course they have a high degree of utility for your own characters.

I've done quite well with Artifice and Synthweaving but since I haven't done every crafting skill I'd be hesitant to say either was the best. The lightsaber crystals, dyes, and hilts made by Artifice are always in high demand, and some of the cosmetic armor sets made by Synthweaving are as well, along with armoring and augments.

You may want to check on the crew skill subforum. There are probably some crafters in there that have every crafting skill.

I'm gonna give you a little trade secret. Get yourself the crew skills Bioanalysis and Scavenging then head to Yavin 4. Farm the nodes in the Verdant Swamp and sell what you receive on the GTN. Easy 2-4 million credits per hour, depending on market prices.

I agree with all the methods people have described, but most require a high level character or a decent amount of seed credits to turn a reasonable profit. I personally Use a mix of these methods to net a good profit and mix things up so I don't get bored grinding for resources or running Heroics.

If you are just starting out and don't have a 60+ character or a couple million credits to invest, however, the best way I've found to get credits is through Artifice crafting and doing the Heroics. The items you can sell for decent profit (lightsaber crystals, dyes, artifacts) require a relatively low level to craft and the resources are easy to find in the early planets. I've gotten returns of up to 500% or more depending on the GNT sell price.

I've been farming gathering mats on Iokath. For about a half an hour's work, I can make one or two million per day. Not sure if I've got the best farming spot or anything like that, but it's been working out for me. I should warn you about Slicing though: opening all those credit cases is fun, but it's considerably less profitable than my other two skills (archaeology and bioanalysis).
