I'm back after a long hiatus and I'm wondering how to fit Cleaving Cut into my Kinetic Combat Shadow's repertoire. I get that it's an AoE damaging snare, but it seems like I've already got that covered with Whirling Blow and Slow Time.

You don't really use it as a tank. It's only useful for Infiltration with their AoE tactical and kind of useful for Serenity as a Whirling Blow replacement (only after you spread DoTs with Whirling Blow).

dont even slot it.

You don't need it on the hotbar right now. Maybe they'll make it worth having a spot on it down the road, but right now it doesn't do anything better than what you already have, outside of wasting a gcd.

It's useless matey, save yourself the hassle and leave it out.

I've found that Force Slow, Slow Time, and several of our utilities have this niche covered and then some.

 

No idea why the devs thought we needed and conal snare, but I appreciate you guys input. Thanks again!

Useful as tank with Rebuking Assault set bonuses, which drop from Dxun...

Other than that, don’t use it.

I would really like to get feedback from Bioware about what the vision was with this new ability...….

 

I have it on my bars as hatred for situations when people are stacked and I need to slow them to spread my DoTs with Lacerate before they run off. Even then it feels like a waste of a GCD.

 

3 second root would be much better than a lackluster 50% slow.

 

The ability needs a redesign at this point.

 

-Maybe it can replace Lacerate? Behave like Jug slam? increase its damage and have it spread the Dots.

-Have it ignore armor and apply its own dot?

-Have it add a stacking debuff to victims of its damage that death field can consume for more damage or healing.

 

 

Maybe if the rest of us give the devs enough good ideas they can make it a worthwhile ability. I'm just really confused on how they could release a new ability that's worthless.

I came here curious about the ability myself, to see what exactly I'd use it for, cause I like the animation, but it seemed like it was useless. Sad to see it actually is. I love my Operative / Juggs new ability.

If your dot spec I can see a use for it if you get the amplifier that spreads discharge around after you have used severing slash other than that an emergency slow????
