marcelo_sdk
Hello everyone and thanks for appreciating this topic. The Supreme Court, named after the highest court of law in the Galactic Republic, is a fictional judgment that consists in us, the fans, participating in a trial of a chosen individual from the Star Wars universe. That kind of debate already exists in another themed foruns, but I never saw anything similar here, so I'll try to give the kick-off. The judgment will consist of four powers: The Judge: In the first issue, it'll be me, but that can (and hopefully will) change in future topics. The judge we'll control the flow of the judgment, but the final decision will rest on the shoulders of the jury, with the judge participating only in case of tide. The Jury: Will consits of three members, who will just watch the arguments of both the accusation and defense, and give the verdict. The Accusation: The accusation will consist of three members who will charge the accusations regarding the defendant. They have to formalize and separate the accusations so we can judge each of then alone, so we'll not just debate if the defendant is guilty or innocent in a general view. Ex: Palpatine, we accuse you of the crimes of: genocide, for propagating the conflict known as The Clone Warsm causing the direct and indirect death of millions; Treason, by involving the Galactic Republic in a personal journey of vendetta; etc... The Defense: Will consit of three members, they will try to refute each the accusations implied to their client. But before determining who will compose each of the powers, the defendant will be chose. For that, the choice is yours. Present here who would you like to see in the court. Don't need to formalize the accusations, just give the name. I just ask that we do this with order. I'll give a week from today to everyone who wants to participate. The person who first indicated the chosen defendant will have the preerence to be the mediator of the accusation team. After we chose the defendant, we'll proceed to the definition of the Power's components. Hope you liked the idea, and thanks again for who took the time to read this. Selenial
Thats a pretty cool idea, but it would actually be something easy to defend, unlike the palpy situation

Any character of SW Universe can be thron on the table.
Swissbob
I like this idea! I'll just be watching passively on the side though.
XantosCledwin
You realize if the Jury only has 3 members, the Judge position is kind of redundant, because it is impossible for the Jury to end in a tie with only three members where the only options allowed are "Guilty" or "Not Guilty"
Beniboybling
This is a great idea, but I fear its demanding a little too much from the community and won't take off. Nonetheless its a great idea and I'd actually love to see some debates concerning this. So I'd suggest that you perhaps start off with a more informal set up. For example: propose your own defendant and accusations (which of course can be suggestions) and then simply put it to the table. Anyone can join and choose either side. Then when you feel the debate has reached a conclusion you can decide if the defendant is guilty or innocent, or perhaps pull together some kind of jury. Just a suggestion, but I think it could work. But thanks for the warning.

I planned to do this, but I rather created this to see if people would interest for the idea. Since some appearst to approve, I'll probably do as you said.
