Where to find this gear or similar?

So literally the only requirement is to get to level 61? Any heroic? How to turn them in? Sorry for asking maybe dumb questions.

That means you have to have done KOTFE till chapter 9 (you get the odessen base) on the character which you will be using for the heroic grind. Well, those crates are legacy wide, so you can farm them on any character (above lvl 61) and mail to your main who has the Alliance Specialists unlocked.

However, the gear you get is RNG so good luck on that.

Thanks (and to the guy above as well!) for the info. You've all been really helpful. Does each crate drop one random piece or one random set? I'm assuming piece because grind grind grind

Yes, it's one piece per crate. Since you were talking about the bounty hunter set, you only need to farm the crates for Hylo Visz (Smuggled Goods), because those are the only ones that can drop bounty hunter gear.

There are guides around for which heroics drop which crates (you can also see it in the mission reward), so maybe take a look at one of those.

Maybe I never got through chapter 9 of KOTFE, because when I tried to turn these legacy bound crates in ages ago I seen this Hylo NPC showing on the map, but couldn't not enter the area he is standing.

After many times trying to ask people why, etc., I gave up and started selling these legacy crates they just took up space.

My point is, before you start collecting these crates to turn in, make sure the NPC is available for you unlike me, it's very confusing because they just tell you that you need to turn in to this Hylo guy, but there's no explanation that a certain chapter of the game needs completed if that's the case.

^^ This needs to be clarified and expanded on for the benefit of the OP.

You can in fact collect the crates, you just can't turn them in until a character unlocks through chapter 9 (which only takes a few hours of effort to grind through). If you are leveling up a character in heroics (one of the fastest ways to level a character solo if you are unconcerned about story arcs) .. they are going to get these anyway (doubled from 61-65 even). Just store them until you have a character unlocked that can turn them in. I have over a hundred of each crate type in storage right now..... just from running higher level characters through heroics as I generally level them through heroics these days. If I choose to run another character through KOTFE/KOTET I can pull a batch of them an insta cap with the NPCs on Odessen.

The downside of course to these turn-ins is that the box you get in return will have random contents (though as noted ealier.. different NPCS provide random drops for specific class appearances. But the reality is that a lot of the pieces appearance is replicated exactly (or very closely) with a wide range of CM and non CM items... so the OP does not literally have to have every piece unless they are a collection-perfectionist/completionist (which is as valid an interest as any other interest in anything in game).

Gotcha makes sense guys. I got to KOTFE chapter 9 tonight and was introduced to each of the alliance specialists. The heroic quests appear to be labelled as to what rewards they have. I will do the Hylo Viz ones to get the bounty hunter gear, is group finder not an option for the heroics? I couldn't find an option for it (there is a quick travel option on the quest bar for each heroic though)

They reworked the heroics so that they are literally easy to solo now days... so while you can group.. there is no specific system to help you do that. There are a handful among the many heroics available on the Fleet terminal that are not instanced and have long respawns on a boss.... and people generally will just group up at the heroic if there is a line formed to kill a named boss. Other then that, it takes more time to form a group then it does to quick travel to the heroic and just finish it off.

Heroics are considered solo-content now. You can find them under the solo tab in group finder, or rather, a quick travel to each planet's heroic mission terminal.

Yup I take it back heroics are beyond easy, almost too easy. I did every single smuggler crate heroic in about an hour and a half and got every piece of the set I wanted except the chest.

Grats! RNG has been good to you then. :D
