Yeah unlikely, I could see them adding new advanced classes to the existing classes, but a new class would require them to have new voice acting done for both a new series of class quests and for all existing content in the game. it would be way to much of a money sink for what this game is likely bringing in. Maybe a new melee trooper/bounty hunter that uses vibroblades? always thought it was weird that they have all these vibroblades but the only class that can use them are force users that use lightsabers. would be nice to have a non force user with the option to use them

Tech classes should use tech weapons, that is techblades and techstaffs. Vibroswords and Electrostaffs are force weapons (look at the tooltip - they give Force Power, not Tech Power).

And I have several characters who would hunt you down, with lightning and Force Choke, if you tried to take their Vibroswords / Electrostaffs away.

Not necessarily, if they add new classes to the game then they could easily set them after the events of kotfe/kotet on entirely new worlds as starting areas to reflect the changes that happened to the galaxy. There's classes like the scout, noble, gladiator/duelist, fringer, tech specialist, and force adept to name just a few. They could create class storylines again other than just "the outlander" since that storyline was basically lackluster when they decided to condense everything instead of making specific storylines for each class. Obviously, level would have to also match the new content so perhaps starting at level 60 you go through new content to get to 70 on said class specific stories instead of the outlander story. They should also create new story content for each of the current classes too instead of just leaving it a condensed mess. That was the original intent behind the game, so each class had something unique for the playthrough. We can keep throwing suggestions at them in threads like this until we're blue in the face however, but they'll never really listen cause they no longer have the team necessary to accomplish that or the funding.

From a technical standpoint, yeah it makes the most sense to introduce new advanced classes or make 'hero' style classes that start at level 60. The former probably the more likely of the two given developmental costs... though realistically if they haven't felt the need to add a new class in the last six years that ship has probably sailed.

But if I could mind trick the devs into making a class appear tomorrow... the empire vs republic loading screen we have right now kind of makes me wish I could play a 'regular' imperial soldier type character. Something that uses a rifle and... actually uses a rifle.

Someone who can actually equip tech weapons or use vibroswords without being a force user (which I always thought was sort of the main idea behind a vibrosword) would be kinda neat too.

Adding new classes would not be a problem at all, given the will and resources.

New class just need a new introductory story, after wich they would join the republic/empire and queue in forged alliances. They would have to start at lvl50 or so.

A different method is to just add advanced classes and re-use existing class stories.

Anyways, sugestions. I have 3:

Lightsaber melee class based on starkiller from force unleashed and his unique lightsaber stance.

Force sensitive based on the staff user from rogue one. Based on body strengthning techniques and using staff abilities with bits of force.

Teras kasi based class with emphasis on martial arts and jedi assassination techniques.

My own thoughts on a new class:
1. Force sensitive ... By that I mean they understand it, are sensitive enough to have obtained some aspects but only be able to have a minimal amout of force sensative traits... BUT not enough to fit in as a Jedi or Sith.

2. Not another smuggler or commando : BUT without question more of a SPECIAL FORCES TYPE . Not an active member of the Republic or Empire as a soldier. A part of their back ground might even be "former" soldier or simular background but would definately tie in with post KotET. This character whould begin with Iokath or somewhere there about.

3. Choice of weapon: a new weapon that might be a larger more fully automatic blaster with a bit more punch than normal. But not the range of sniper. And certainly not the commando style of auto cannon. Probably more the the Star Wars version of the following: IWI-ACE / FN F2000 / or an AK 107. I think you get the idea !
(note: please don't get too caught up on these automatic weapons. Someone will undoubltedly come up with a much better comparrison)

4. Armor rating: medium (similar to JK or Smuggler). Specific designs TBA.

5. Tactical ability: prefered to be DPS, ranged or tank in function. As a special forces type character they might have a back ground in use with a knife / dager type light saber AS WELL AS an automatic weapon. So they could easily have a descent range .. but also be affective close in as well. (yes using both should be considered). The closer the target the more deadly the attacks. Not a sniper per say... although if the development team wanted to add sniper shot as one of the new tactical slots that would work too.

6. Race back ground: as many as might be available. I would not restrict the availability of any group to access this one. Except maybe Jawas or Ewaks ... I have a hard time seeing that !
7. This character may or may NOT be the former Alliance commander. But undeniably has close ties to those running it.

If this character were introduced correctly a part of their interest in the post developments of the KotFE / ET could easily bring them out into a more direct envolvement of the story now unfolding with "Jedi Under Seige". This new character and class should be introduced at leve 65... BUT NOT with the usual "plop" here's a new character. There could and probably should be more questions asked of the background when selecting information for the new toon:

Examples:
1. Do you want this character related to or connected to any of the following:
Tython?
Zakuul?
Lanna?
Theron?
(others... ) [please note: this is just a brain storming idea.. needs a lot of work]
2. Light Side or Dark Side focus questions to help with build ???
3. Select 5 top companions from Alliance commanders list to start with. YES .. NEW companions will be introduced later. Simply stated that at level 65 most players would have several to choose from. This would simply be a starting point.

-----------------------------
EDIT (adding background story sketch and ideas for the first one (maybe two) companions

New character (either male or female) picks up computer crystal with encrypted holo message. They recognize the source: a friend they have not heard from in over 5 years. Plugging in the crystal it begins to play :

"Hello old friend! I know that you have had to lay low for some time now. I know that it was a risk just sending this to you. You should also know that the courier who has delivered this to you was hand picked by me to insure it's secret and private delivery. As you may have already been made aware the Vaylin has been defeated. What has now been called the Eternal Alliance has decided to throw in (with either the Alliance or Empire as needed). There has also been a major shift in hostilities in the last few months from some old enemies that are stiring up new trouble.

I would not be asking you to come out of your self imposed seclusion unless I thought it were absolutely necessary. I need someone with your particular skill set in special ops and enemy infiltration to help with some very special concerns. Here is how you may contact me. ..... I have 5 people waiting to be assigned to your team. Others you will meet as your activities move across the galaxie .

Voss won't happen, neither as a species nor as a class (that would be essentially the same as making "Human" a class).

Why? Well, quite apart from the fact that they are tall and skinny compared to the other species, which would make armour fits a bit stressful, they would also convert the middle of Chapter 3 of the class story into complete gibberish.

NPC: The trials are only for the Voss. You are an outsider.
Voss Player: ...

Class-story NPC: You must go to Voss. It's a recently-discovered world that nobody knows much about.

Voss race perhaps, but a mystic advanced class for Inquisitor/consular could work. You just have to assume you were ad-libing until you saw on Voss that is was definitly a thing. Given the class stories, it even makes sense that they were tapping into strange new powers in the force.

The Voss can barely use the Force at all. The only way they can use it 'intentionally' is healing. They only other ability they can use the Force, and I say 'use' loosely, is they have like 'vision quests', it isn't about the Voss themself and they have no control over any of it, it's more like they are just a conduit thru which these visions express themselves.

"The Mystics aren't Sith or Jedi, though—for them, the Force is a conduit of healing and sometimes, visions. Rituals that manipulate the Force are rare and often forbidden."
―Darth Zash[src]"

https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Voss_Mystics

Yeah, they view the Force differently than the Sith and Jedi, but those are cultural differences, not actual mechanical differences. It's like the Witches of Dathomir, they think they are using magic, but they are actually using the Dark Side of the Force. They play by the same rules as all Force users do, they just call it different names and have cultural spins.

What 'strange new powers" are you talking about?

Please tell me your not referring to 'Grey Jedi' BS. There's no 'Gray' in canon and this game can't break canon. [As per the Lucasfilm Story Group - https://r2d2arm.wordpress.com/tag/story-group/ ].

When they refer to Voss as 'Gray', it's meant only in the context that they are neither Jedi or Sith. There's no 'using both sides of the force with impunity' crap meant.

The Voss are extremely limited in their ability to use the Force. I don't see any evidence of them using the Force in 'new strange ways'. They can barely use it at all.

I think you were referring to Voss Mystics as a new class. If I misunderstood you, I apologize.
