Hello, I am looking for the information on every Class's armor and weapon proficiencies as well as the Advanced Class proficiencies to compile this list. Please post any information you have on the topic that is not shown in this initial thread. I believe there may be some Shield/Focus Proficiencies that need to be added to certain Classes, please confirm.

 

A question for SWTOR: why is Speeder Piloting considered a Class Ability and not a General Ability?

Appreciate your efforts in putting this together; but your weapons are backwards on the Bounty Hunter and Agent. The BH has access to Blaster Pistols only and the Agent has access to Blaster Rifles.

 

Not sure why the Bounty Hunter can't use a rifle; but still. Just wanted to let you know.

I wonder if they will ever add in more weapons for the individual classes to use; because to be honest I would love for the republic troopers to be able to learn how to use pistols and maybe sniper rifles. And the bounty hunters to be able to learn how to use scatterguns and blaster rifles as it would add in more variety in to each individual player. I'm not saying have these things free to access, to probably put it the best way possible there is a certain number of weapons a class could use and you would have to choose three of the five or two of the four extra weapon specializations and you would have to pay a good number of credits to unlock the weapons tree. I do believe the proficiency for weapons should still apply to where given classes do well with given weapons and skills; but I do think that other classes should be able to learn new abilities. Note: I do not know how this would apply for Jedi or Sith in this regard; but maybe the can learn more given styles to study and perfect within the lightsaber fighting category or maybe more dueling based melee weapons could be available to them.

Almost certainly not, because they've in the past expressed a wish to differentiate classes by their weapons. (Also: you could be in a worse situation: FFXIV actually defines your class by the weapon you are wielding. If you change your weapon, you change your class.)
