Grey Jedi Order: Chapter 3 Saying goodbye

Ian Mount spent the next hour or two moving Bryan and Analah's bodies into the forest and gathering what dry wood he could find for his brother and Analah's pyre. The Imperial forces had already occupied the city he was in charge of defending. From what he was able to hear through encrypted Republic channels on his communicator, an order for retreat had been issued and all surviving forces were to rendezvous with Master Satele Shan and Havoc Squad for a counter offensive.

It wasn't long before he gathered enough wood to start the two pyres. Ian had both his and his brother's lightsaber clipped onto his belt. He left Analah's double-lightsaber where it fell, because of its Sith origins and the thought of having it brought more emotions to the surface than he would like to admit. Memories he shared with Bryan and Analah started to rise from the depths of his memories. As they did, he could feel a couple of tears start to form. However, he wiped them off before they could run down his dirt covered cheeks. He was saying his last farewells before hearing the sound of swoop bikes approaching his location. Most likely drawn to the source of the smoke that had started to rise of above the tree line.

The Jedi Force jumped into one of the trees as two swoop bikes circled around the pyres and stopped just under where Ian was observing them. He watched as the two Imperial scouts dismounted and looked at the pyres.

One of them started to radio in via holocom. "Charlie to outpost 0018, smoke we saw looks to be funeral pyres. No sign of any Republic forces. Must have pulled out before we got here. Do we try to pursue?"

N-negative, Charlie. Resume your patrol of the perimeter....

"Understood. Charlie, out."

As the Imperial scout deactivated his com, Ian jumped down on top of him; lightsabers drawn and impaled the scout. The second scout that was closer to the pyres tried to make a run for his swoop bike, but was held back by the Force. Ian had used his Force abilities to lift the scout into the air and pulled him towards him. With one quick slash, Ian cut down the last scout. The scout's armor sizzled and lit up before smoke started to seep from the cut.

Deactivating his two lightsabers, Ian mounted one of the swoop bikes and revved it's engine before taking off into the forest. For the next several weeks he fought in multiple skirmishes on Alderaan; trying to grant the Republic a proper foothold in the area, so they can start retaking the planet. All the while, he continued fighting with his brother's lightsaber at his side. It wasn't long before he was called by the Jedi Council to return to the Jedi Temple....

Worn out from the weeks of fighting with the Sith Empire, Ian Mount was escorted by two Republic soldiers to the entrance to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. There, the soldiers departed and left Ian with the Temple Guards. From there, the masked, white-robed Jedi guided him to the Jedi High Council tower. As they made their way through the main hall of the temple, Ian stopped to pay his respects to Ven Zallow and his former apprentice, Aryn Leneer. Aryn was saying goodbye to Master Zallow before departing for the military spaceport that was planning to have her transported to a Republic fleet that were to be the reinforcements for Master Satele Shan, on Alderaan.

Spending several minutes traversing the corridors of the Jedi Temple and taking the lift, they approached the entrance to the Jedi Council, the Temple Guards move away and stood guard by the doors as they slid open; letting Ian enter the council room.

There, sitting with several other Jedi Council members, was Zym, a Kel Dor and Grand Master of the Jedi Order.

"Jedi Knight, Ian Mount. It's good to see you..." the Kel Dor replied. Ian bowed is head before the Grand Master the the Council.

"Grand Master Zym. Council... I am here as summoned..."

"So you are..." replied one of the other Jedi Council members.

Ian made his way to the center of the chamber and awaited to hear again from the Council.

"Ian Mount, you have been summoned to stand before the Council, because we have gotten reports of rather worrying actions and behavior, while fighting on Alderaan," Zym said as he picked up a datapad from his lap.

"Grand Master?" Ian replied.

Zym started reading down the list of actions Ian had committed. "Refusing the enemy's surrender on multiple occasions, having emotional outbursts that led to you into grave situations for you and your men, unable to sleep and requesting supplements to help you sleep, portraying a strong emotional attachment to your brother's lightsaber, and having disregarded several of Master Satele Shan's orders, while under her command."

Ian remained silent. As the Council looked at one another. Zym placed the datapad back down and crossed his hands. "Jedi, Ian Mount, in light of this information, I belive it's in your best interests that re remove you from the Jedi Order."

"What do you mean 'removed from the Jedi Order?!'" Ian demanded. His emotions were overwhelming his Jedi training in controlling his emotions.

"Ian, you are emotionally compromised and are unable to lead your men in battle or take orders from your superiors. Your actions are leading you to the dark side of the Force. We cannot have a loose cannon among the Jedi ranks. Especially since there has been rumors of the Sith Empire willing to have peace talks. You will be taken to the Jedi Consulars and have your memory wiped of all Jedi knowledge and memories, while in the Jedi Order and released to live a normal life."

"I don't understand. I have devoted my life to the Jedi Order--to the Republic! I've sacrificed everything for you and you're planning to just erase my memories?!"

"I'm sorry, but we see this as the only way to save you from falling to the dark side," Zym finished saying as he summoned four Temple guards to escort Ian out of the chamber.

Ian tried to reach for his and his brother's lightsabers, but they were quickly taken from him by two of the Temple Guards as the other two pinned him down with their lightsaber lances. He was then cuffed and led out of the chamber and into the lift that went down several levels. Ian could feel his mind tap into the dark side. He refused to except this future where he forgets everyone he ever cared about. One thing was for sure, he's wasn't going to make it easy....

Hi everyone,

Sorry it took me awhile to get Chapter 3 up. I was recalling the content in the chapters I've written and I thought I'd change up a lot of things. The original chapters were written over 3 years ago and my storytelling has improved immensely since then, so I thought I do some touch up work.

Koichi, your story looks interesting :) I think it would be easier to keep track of, for both you, and your readers, if you posted all the chapters in one thread, rather than separately. It'll make it easier for you to reference things too, if you want to check on something you did. If I were you, I would take your chapter 1- 3 and post it as a reply to your post of table of contents. I hope I don't offend you by making this suggestion, I just thought it easier to keep track of Ian's adventures in one place. :) Edited by Lunafox

Hi Lunafox,

Yes, I thought about that. Only reason I didn't do it from the get go was for two reasons. One: I didn't want to turn people away by posting a VERY long post with all the chapters on it. It also makes it hard to keep track of where you are if you stop reading in the middle. At least with how I have it set up, you can keep a record of which chapter you're on.

My second reason was that I didn't want the links to the new chapters to be lost if by chance people start posting a lot on the Table of Contents thread. I do try to update the threads by posting about new chapters being added. Especially the table of contents thread.

Also, I know a few do the "Spoiler" tab to keep it compact, but I don't recall how to do that. Maybe once I have more chapters listed and I figure out to do the spoiler function, I'll reconsider. Especially if more start asking for me to do that.

Well, ok, if that works for you groovy. :)

Spoiler tags aren't hard to do at all...you just have to encase the word 'spoiler' in square brackets and then at the end of text you've written, you type /spoiler inside square brackets...and you'll get your text covered up, like you've seen others do. I hope that helps you. Like this, [ spoiler ] 'everything you want to say about Ian' [ /spoiler ] but without spaces before and after the word spoiler...I had to do the spaces so it would show you what I meant without doing it lol.

Done right, it'll look like this

hi there, keep writing :) good luck
