I've recently purchased two races on the cartel market for 600 coins each, and I can't select either race in character creation. Anybody know why this may be?

After you purchased them, did you right click the item in your inventory? Or maybe it is still in your stash. Press shift p i think to see your cartel stash thingy.

Yes you are correct press p then click the second tab for stash, claim then as you say click them in inventory to access them.

Full procedure (that works):

* Select item in Cartel Market

* Press BUY

* (Optional step: confirm that you are buying)

* On the same character, claim the item from the Unclaimed items area of the market.

* (Optional step: confirm that you want to claim the item.)

* Open your inventory (default key: "I" - "eye", not "ell")

* Right-click on the SPECIES(1) unlock item.

 

The stash is not involved in species-unlock tokens.

 

The optional steps are marked optional because they have a "do not show this again" checkbox. You can make them visible again in the "User Interface" section of the preferences panel.

 

If you have deleted the character that pressed "BUY", you will have to enter a Customer Service ticket (*not* a Bug Report) to have the character restored.

 

Final note: If you are trying to unlock Cathar, Togruta or Nautolan, ignore this note. Other species unlocks can be achieved without spending Cartel Coins by creating a start-at-1 character of some other class and levelling it to level 50. (The Master's Datacron doesn't count for this.)
