2.6+ DPS LEADERBOARD

Greetings. Welcome to the official 2.6+ Bastion DPS Leaderboard. I have noticed a considerable sum of people from this server (I,e, Pizza, Stryvah, Stippling, Fuyri) participate in Falver's World DPS Leaderboards here (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=685275) With that said, I would like to facilitate competition between PvE raiders in the Bastion server on who has the best parse on a Training Dummy. As Fuyri has taken the initiative to run a PvE Raid Progression Leaderboard, I will be running the DPS Leaderboard. This thread serves two purposes:

1.) To make yourself and your guild stand out by having the best parse as well as demonstrating your full mastery of your class.

2.) To make it a fair, friendly, and competitive competition

Disclaimer: Dummy DPS =/= Raid Boss DPS. There are obviously dynamics that lead to an imbalance between both sides. To this end, if you would like to post your parses on a raid setting, refer to Board's two threads for 8-Man and 16-Man DPS Leaderboards:

http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=711350 (8-Man)

http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=691926 (16-Man)

I will be basing the rules off of Falver's DPS Leaderboards. Please check the Spoiler tag for the standards.

DPS Leaderboard 2.4+

By posting parses in the thread, you are stating that you have read the following rules:

Updated: 2/8/2014

Rules

1. Must be combat logged on the level 55 Operations Training Target MK-5 and have the 1 million health module and the armor debuff module applied. It will appear in your logs like so:

Quote:

17:53:23.636 Red'october activates Shattered Armor.

17:53:28.769 Red'october's Shattered Armor adds effect Armor Reduced to Operations Training Dummy.

17:53:34.151 Red'october activates 1,000,000 Health.

17:53:39.212 Red'october's 1,000,000 Health adds effect 1,000,000 Health to Operations Training Dummy.

17:53:39.212 Red'october's 1,000,000 Health heals Operations Training Dummy for 999999.

17:54:37.228 Red'october activates XS Freighter Flyby

2. Parses will be standardized using the drop down time boxes. Set the time interval according to start of combat and death of the dummy.

3. Class buffs/stims/adrenals are permitted.

4. Another player is not allowed to assist with Bloodthirst/Inspiration, etc during the logging.

5. Nightmare Pilgrim buff is not permitted.

6. No use of Legacy abilities or cybertech grenades, etc.

7. Only combat logs from http://www.torparse.com/ will be accepted. All claims must be accompanied by a link to their parse.

8. When posting please use the following format: Character - Class - Spec - xx/xx/xx - Time to kill.

Example: Claimed - Gunslinger - Saboteur - 7/36/3 - 3'45.25s

9. Prestacking buffs using in-combat related moves is not allowed. However, buffs that can be replicated in an operations setting is permitted. For example, scoundrels respeccing from scrapper to dirty fighting to preload flachette round is permitted.

10. Two counterpart parses from the same person/account are not permitted. For example, I cannot have both my sniper and my gunslinger on the same top 5 leaderboard. Additionally, one person may not have multiple specs on the same leaderboard. You can however have two parses up from separate (advanced) classes.

11. As of 8/11, all new parses are required to have an AMR profile. Older parses will not be required to update theirs. Currently the Ask Mr. Robot does not have 78 gear. Until such a time, these AMR profiles are estimates. Search for their post for an estimated gear level.

*Ensuring that all of these rules are followed can be a difficult endeavor so please post with proof if you have concerns about a claim's validity.

Additional Rules:

1.) Post parses with rules read. Any parse without following the criteria whatsoever (i.e. No 1 Mill Mod or Armor Debuff) will be discounted.

2.) No personal attacks, elitism, trolling, and drama. Any instances of these areas will have their post(s) reported.

3.) EDITED LOGS FROM A NOTEPAD WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. ANY INSTANCE OF AN EDITED LOG (i.e. Damage =/= Threat or mathematically impossible numbers) WILL RESULT IN A PERMANENT BAN FROM THE THREAD. No exceptions.

4.) OP updates will be every week or so. I will update my posts with announcements from such instances.

5.) Top 5 of each Class will be recognized.

6.) Please include a guild tag as well. I.E. Lumine <Unnecessary Girth> - Sniper - Marksmanship - XX/XX/XX - X:XX.XXXs (XXXX DPS)

To clarify how TorParse's time boxes work:

Example of using Time Boxes in TorParse:

http://files.enjin.com.s3.amazonaws....al/1699547.jpg

Use the boxes to match the start time and the end time to get a better parse.

For example: Tiffanyjane's start time was 18:10:02. The first box, match that corresponding time.

Tiffanyjane's end time was 18:17:05. The second box, match that corresponding time.

Afterwards, click View, then click Link to the Current Fight, copy and paste and use that link to post the parse.

As it is difficult for me to track down the legitimacy of a parse, I invite everyone to validate parses as well to ensure a fair competition.

Updated. As a reminder, please adjust your TTK Parse using TorParse's Time Boxes to get the exact data. Here's how to do it.

*Copy and Pasted from my guild's Leaderboards

Example of using Time Boxes in TorParse:

http://files.enjin.com.s3.amazonaws.com/224652/module_gallery/original/1699547.jpg

^This will be added to the rules section soon

Got a message from Madchen in Taiwan telling me about this thread. I'm not really into dummy parses because I like boss fights to do the talking since that's really where it counts, but, I guess I can try to work on better numbers at a later date when I get a main stat relic.

And thanks for updating the logs

I will strongly agree that boss fights have the most bragging rights than simply hitting a stationary dummy. It's the reason why I referenced links to actual boss fight leaderboards.

However, the reason I created this thread is to allow everyone to compare each other in terms of rotations, skill, and gear BiS'ing. I can say that the intention of this thread is basically to get everyone acquainted with improving themselves. In my brutally honest opinion, (this goes back to the "Dummy vs. Boss" argument) just because you have 3.8k DPS on a dummy doesn't mean you're the best player in the server or even in the game. My 3.7k parse as Marksmanship, for example, is an extreme outlier of the average parse so I'm not even bragging about that. In fact, my parses have been significantly lower than my other raiders's parses during farm runs of HM DF/DP. It's actually the reason why I've retired parsing on my Sniper because I've already mastered the basics and there isn't any need to push my luck further with lucky Crits and stuff. I am aware that a certain Marauder tried to flaunt off his Carnage parse Pre-2.0 and got trolled to the highest order. I rather not be that guy and instead be humble about it. :)

But don't take my statement to heart. This thread is made to create competition. What better way to flaunt off your RNG luck with your knowledge of your class? :D

On a side note, I'm updating the OP tomorrow night.

Double side note, no problem, Stryvah. Might roll a Powertech DPS soon. ;)

I totally understand, and things like this are good to help promote competition and further assist new people with gearing and ability priority. As for dummy parsing, I think the real issue for me is I'm too lazy to dummy parse until I get something I want to post. I usually try 3-5 times at most and call it there for a couple weeks.... or months Edited by Melon_Lord

I think that's starting to be on my case at the very moment.

Just did one test on 2.8 PTS as Pyro for 3832 I wouldn't be surprised with any luck in 180 gear for 4k to be possible. I wasn't aware 35% more damage to DoT was in the realm of *slight*, but I'll take it. Also don't know if this buff will survive pvp complainers.

The three melee classes (Marauder, Assassin, Powertechs) now have the ability to parse at that range. I would encourage parsing a bit more to get a feel of it. I did see some Vanguards parse 4k, even CTor himself.

PvP Wise it has been about survivability issues for some classes. Sad to say, Powertech defensives still need some work. :(

SIDE NOTE: I didn't expect this thread to be bumped suddenly since there's a lack of interest of dummy parsing in this server. But I'll hold my breath for 2.8 and see where it goes. The changes to the three melee classes are looking good. :)
