I just recently came back and I have decided to main my newly level 70 Shadow. Are there any pro tips for gearing that I should know about or just wait till the Expansion to gear?

Go to your spaceship and use the terminal to start the Ossus mission.

 

After talking to Lana, then your faction-decision contact on Nar Shaddaa, then back to Lana and gang, you get a bag that has a nice set of 232-236 rating gear (no relics).

 

They don't have set bonuses but now you can do most any content with decent gear. As you play you should get Command ranks and therefore Command crates. It's RNG what's in them, but when you get a piece of 230 purple gear that has a Set bonus, swap it out for that 232 item. In my opinion, having the set bonus from a full set of 230 gear is better than the minor of stats you get from the no-set-bonus green 232 gear.

 

That's the EASY way.
