long story short, defeated the first 2 bosses in dread palace and then two of our guys quit after that. so i decided to quit and wait on the fleet for a new group.

 

waited a while and got a new group, when i tried to fast travel it wouldn't let me. then the leader in my group told me that because i defeated the first 2 bosses, i cant start from the beginning again for another week. even though i reset the mission.

 

is this accurate? i need this mission for story progression and i cant do anything until it's back on ops next week?

What you have is called a lockout. Since you already killed Bestia and Tyrans, you can either make a group to pick up from Calphayus, or wait for the lockout to expire. However, since you've indicated it was a PUG, it's probably not a 1-week lockout. If you were doing the op on Story Mode, that'll reset at rollover (1-day lockout). HM/VM and MM/NiM lockouts are 1-week long and reset on Tuesdays.
