Just as it happened in 1.6 NOTHING will be given in 1.7 as well. Something whispers in my mind that we won't get a thing until Makeb. I almost gave up swtor too. If not a guild leader i'd play something else for sure. As for playing a sniper/PT..., i tried both and have 50lvl on each oh them. Love my commando still. Having fun on my low lvl alts from time to time but nothing serious. If 1.7 won't bring a change, i'll give up TOR till Makeb.

yep so would i. i played a sniper in beta so as to not spoil the BH storyline, but now i wish i had just stuck with sniper. in the first place. i have a level 29 alt sniper, but i am the most unmotivated mmo leveler ever

 

Mines lvl 20 at the moment and I'm seriously thinking about using my commando to help grind WH gear for him for when he hits 50 and sending it to him with legacy gear.

 

Though, more than likely, if 1.7 hits and mercs/mandos do not receive a much needed buff, along with a much needed nerf to other classes, I'll finally just throw in the towel.

I find it amazing that you'd spend money on an xpac for a game that is a disappointment.

its very possible to pull those numbers but I can promise you if you played any other class youd be closer to 900k

yep, those are the classes I see at the top most of the time. Also Operatives. I never see mercs unless they have a free range to blast anything without getting accosted. But I have zero respect for Sent/Mara. If you aren't putting up heavy damage as them you must be playing with your foot and 3 fingers

Guys, I want to see my Commando active again as much as the next guy. But honestly, Bioware just doesn't care. Why would they? A majority of the subs aren't Commando, so why would they waste time fixing them? They have enough on their plate with the skeleton crew they have now. IF Commando ever does get a buff, it will be next year. Hopefully I'm wrong though. But they just don't care.

I finally leleved up to 50 a Powertech a few days ago and went to do some pvp and, my goodness, why did I ever pick Mercenary...

 

Will 2013 be the year of proper balancing? Pffff, just roll a mara/pt.

Hi everyone! I talked to Austin Peckenpaugh (Senior Designer) about Commandos and Mercenaries and their situation in PvP right now, and he had this to say:

 

I think it's fair to say that Mercenaries and Commandos have escape issues. Admittedly, they can be very hard to catch when used correctly to hug corners, but a lot of that "escapability" falls aside when attacked by multiple melee enemies, at which point they just aren't quite tough enough to sustain without further escapes. We have plans for the future that should give Mercenaries and Commandos better escapes in PvP.

 

Thats just sweet! You intend to INCREASE survivability to a DPS prof? So you dont think the DPS classes got enough power already? Especially compared to Tanks?

i have not been able to PvP since the server merges. the latentcy from TN to The Garbinger is NEVER <100ms, in warzones 300-3000ms consistantly. prior to FTP/merges, i PvP'd daily...even on my Merc, without issue.

 

i, along with my fellow Mercs and commandos, have been hindered for entirely too long, and i don't understand the complete lack of acknowledgement by BW/EA, or their inability to directly address and fix it.

 

well, i do...FTP = $$$. CC = $$$.

 

they have their priorities. and class balance, OWPvP, RWZs, and replayable content (other than class stories) are not it. it's $$$.

 

i'm a fool. a fool to continue to pay for a piss-poor product.

make friends w/ a good mara. i played w/ one the other night, and he was peeling for me while i peeled for our healer. in like 6 warzones, the two of us put up >400k damage 4 times, and one of those was >500k. i outdamaged him in all but one hypergates where i got stuck guarding the first round and no enemies came to our pylon (still ended up w/ >400k tho:cool:)
