im guessing I'll actually need a second person to do it' since it's in heroic missions with no solo option for some stupid stupid stupid reason. Bad fail bioware. I don't happen to have friends interested in this game so now I'm being punished for it by missing out on the content of the story

Yeah I can't beat him kills me no problem every time so that's a completely wasted half hour getting through the mission till that point. Great. Guess I'm not allowed to do star fortresses then. Fantastic. Couldn't have just left it as a flashpoint at least then I could get a combat support droid to help but no just force me to have to find a group which I can never manage to do. Really disappointed.

Soloing an exarch takes a healer comp above 25 influence and 208 gear, at bare minimum. Even then, you have to study mechanics and know what follows what , what can be interrupted and know how to stay out of telegraphs.

Additionally, you'll want to have all 4 alliance specialists to level 10 influence in order to unlock (and collect) the various special items scattered around the star fortress. Plus, you'll want to be sure you use the terminal in the room where you first enter the star fortress in order to receive the alliance specialist buffs. (Yes, it can be done without any of these things, but they help.) With a tanking class and 216 gear you can get away with a level 20 influence healing companion, so there are different combinations that will work, but bottom line is, you need to be geared well and have a companion with a decent amount of influence.

Yup I'll be avoiding them then. I'm not a guru on this game so I won't be beating the exarch. My T7 is high influence and healer when I faced the exarch and ive got all 208 and a few 216 gear and still got completely rolled over. I'll stick to normal fights I guess.

Cough cough, guys.

I soloed exarchs in 204 PVP gear with lvl 11 healer comp.

Nothing to do with gear or anything. Just go look up vids on YouTube or whatever to see how to do it.

By the way, do you have all the class buffs and heroic abilities?

Good for you I guess :| I don't have all the class buffs and I don't even know what heroic abilities are. I never ever ever play heroic missions I play strictly story only as I said I don't know anyone that plays this and I don't want to just team with random people every time I do the missions. I'll just leave it screw it who cares. And it couldn't possibly have nothing to do with gear otherwise u could do it naked. Which would get you killed in seconds. After all watching YouTube vids won't stop the exarch from having so much health or doing massive amounts of damage per hit.

They meant "Heroic Moment" lvl 15 ability, for each class that has done the story, you gain a new ability, that appears when you hit heroic moment.

Best advice, dont try to rush them, get alliance 4 members to lvl 10

They are doable solo, just those that rush tend to fail (not saying thats you btw)

Good luck with the exarchs!

Oh yeah I know about the heroic moment abilities never realised that's what he meant. Just playing Jedi knight at the minute and only have the class buffs for him and for some reason I get the consular buff even though I've only completed tython with him :/ more of an empire man for my classes lol. Get the alliance leader guys to level ten do you mean? Like Ogurobb and those guys? Seems like something that would take a looooong time since all that increases influence is those locked crates it seems and I have all of mine to my nar shadda contact to unlock the star fortress mission.. I know you can get them from heroics but as I said they really aren't my scene. I just don't think I'll bother with the fortresses. Are there any actual benefits to doing them?

It doesn't require that grade of gear / level of companion. Someone reported on these forums the success his mother (might have been grandmother) had soloing one of the DSF missions wearing 178/190 gear (no relics!) with a fairly low-level companion. Apparently the final battle with the Exarch took her FOUR HOURS.

And for other readers: "telegraphs" in the post above means "red circles on the floor" that "telegraph" (signal) where an enemy is / will be using an AoE attack. In general, getting out of these is a good idea.

This whole thread is all about an antisocial player throwing a temper tantrum about the fact that an MMORPG game contains content that is intended to be done by more than 1 players instead of just 1 player alone.

As if he didn't know that this is a MMORPG before he even started playing for the first time.

As if he didn't know that the MMO in MMORPG means massive multiplayer online.

Yeah, right.

Yeah I'm antisocial because I don't want to play the online portions with random people. Sure. All I said is it would have been EASY for bioware to make this content soloable if we wanted to do it solo I simply don't understand why we aren't given the option. And yeah it's an MMO does that mean that NOBODY plays just for the story elements and doesn't want to play online? For all the story and single player elements of the game I think it's quite reasonable to be playing it alone you can get plenty of hours out of it without requiring another player. I just don't happen to enjoy the game with people I don't know because I always feel rushed to keep up as I don't play keyboard and mouse game often and I'm not that great at it so excuse me very much for being "antisocial" because of it. You sir are a moron and a troll and I'm just gonna stop feeding you now

I don't get how you wouldn't die in low gear? Because doesn't the exarch still do mad damage along with the troopers he had on his side too? How could you survive for four hours? It makes no sense for me even with a good comp and 208/216 gear I can't get healed fast enough and my health drains almost instantly so how is it possible that a bad influence companion would heal faster and worse gear could keep you from taking huge damage. Also whoever spent four hours in a battle needs a life BADLY... Just saying

I'll admit to wondering about all those aspects of the thing myself, although he did say that she learned a *lot* about things like not standing in stupid, something that those of us with better gear don't have such monstrous pressure to learn.

And don't tell me you've never gotten into one of those "I'm going to get this thing if it's the last thing I do" moods where you realise how stupid it is when you watch the sun rise over your computer...(1)

(1) I can't do this, because the sun rises on the other side of the building, and there is a wall behind my computer anyway.

To the intended difficultly,

Eric stated sometimes after 4.0 going live that for an heroic your Comp should count as one of tow.

But that it should be more difficult to master it.

For the Star Fortress they where searching for an better Naming, nothing happened there,

You should be able to solo them with an high Influence Comp, good gear, and advanced legacy and an good understanding of Game Mechanics and your Class.

So I would recommend at least get the four legacy buffs for Completing Akt 2.

Better would be get all eight Classes trough Akt 3 and Completing all Companion Missions.

Then do read Guieds for your Classes an decide which is the one you can play best.

Grind a few heroics for the Alliance buffs, its not so much work.

For the benefits of doing them there is an armor Set for Completing them a few Crystals and two or there sentence from your Comps, maybe there will be more in further Chapters.

It's amusing that when KoFE first came out, people were complaining about how it was all solo content, and now some are complaining that some content requires more than one person. :)

To the OP - It is harder these days to find someone to party with to do the Star Fortresses, but it's not impossible. You just have to hang around the Odessen base and do LFGs. I recently did them on a character, and I admit it took over a week - I would drop into Odessen, LFG for about 15 minutes, switch character to some other one and do something else, then switch back to that character on Odessen. Rinse and repeat.

Keep in mind that you only need 1 other player (plus their companion) - there's no need to try to get a full group. You could also try posting in these forums to find someone else who is also trying to get them done and make arrangements.

EDIT: Also: I have my gear around the 216 mark, except for that one relic that is still 186, maybe 178, and my boots that are 208. My gun (HBG on Gunnery Commando) is 220/216/216, and I have 208 augments on all pieces except relics. Lana is rank 36 in Heal mode. The DSF missions are, for this character, mostly tedious rather than truly hard. They require me to pay attention to what I'm doing the whole time, whereas almost all other content that is meant to be able to be done without other players allows lapses.

The simple answer to this is during the Exarch sequence you must CC one of the golds.

Brief quick guide below: This assumes you know you need to use the item to cross platforms and know how that mechanic works:

You've reached the Exarch:

The first fight against the duel knights. Get close to one of the doors that spawn the knight. CC the first knight that spawns. Go kill the opposite knight quickly. Then kill second. Watch your aoe and don't break the cc on the first knight.

The second room across the platform: CC the first gold and kill the the other gold, return and kill the other gold. Activation computer. (The first room you enter is just weak adds).

the third room after crossing the platform. CC the first gold and kill the other gold. Kill the first droid. Kill the other gold. Then use item looted from droid on Exarch. Activate computer.

The 4th room after crossing the platform. CC the first gold and kill the other gold. Kill the first droid. Then use item on Exarch. Kill the other gold. Kill the spawn of troopers. Kill the silver droid and loot. Use item on Exarch. activate computer.

Fighting Exarch. make sure to interrupt. Move around. Don't stand in aoe. Move and hit. You're healer may need to be set to follow at times to get it out of the AOE. If you use a melee healer. I use Xalek he won't be stationary and will move with you as you fight. This seems to work better then a ranged healer on Exarch as he's not standing in **** the entire fight and if you are moving will be behind the boss a lot.

Id never complain about solo content obviously since it's the only reason I play. Hate looking for group I'm too damn impatient but if anyone is on the red eclipse server and wants to help Id welcome it.

Only understood about half of that haha I'm not fluent in the abbreviations so I don't know what you mean by CC

I soloed every Exarch no problem with Lana Beniko as a healing companion on my Darkness Assassin (Tank) and she was maybe around influence level 10 and I was in greens/blues from the expansion missions.

It took forever as neither of us really do any damage but it was achievable. I just kept the focus on me at all times (aoe taunting, single taunting) and she healed me through all damage thrown at me.

I would be afraid to attempt this on a DPS as a healing companion easily draws agro away from you and would die quickly.

Well I definitely won't be doing them alone at this stage because ive now heard from multiple people saying it's doable but the exarch fight itself would take ages and ages and I just don't have the patience to be fighting a battle that long. Killing Revan is my longest fight so far and I hated it because it took ages and that was with loads of help from Marr and the rest so I don't see me beating the exarch alone anytime soon
