A troubling thing happened just a few minutes ago. Someone was Spoofing my name in game and typing some random racist crap in general.

There were no ' or any leet spellings, it was my name exactly, and when I did a /who it only showed one instance of my name in the zone.

I hope its not going to be Rift all over again...

Its one thing to say "MMOs are never released finished" and another to see a security issue like this laid bare in game.

There were no ' or any leet spellings, it was my name exactly, and when I did a /who it only showed one instance of my name in the zone.

They probably did the old spacebar tap thing in chat, so it just looked like they were using your name when really all they did was spacebar a line down then type your name into chat along with some other stuff.

Seen it done in tons of games, I'm surprised you haven't seen it done before.

If you want to know who did this to you, just look up at the name above "your name" and that's your guy

I forgot to add when I r-clicked the name in chat no windows pop up.

When I click my own name the [Toggle PvP] option comes up. And of course other players give the standard list of /invite /ignore etc options.
