I won't speak to Madness, but I will comment on Maul in Darkness. First, the new ability reduces the force cost of Maul and allows it to be used from any position. So, for PVE Sins, this is probably a huge buff. However for PVP, it really isn't that good.

Any decent PVP Sin can already get into position to use Maul now; so, having the ability to use it from the front isn't much of a buff. The reduced cost is nice, but if doesn't crit, it's not really much better than a thrash and with the reduced crit % in 2.0, getting a crit will be harder than ever.

Compare this to some of the other kick-*** abilities in other classes. Lethality snipers can proc their Takedown (our Assassinate) just about every time on Cull. If you want to look at Jugg Tank vs Sin Tank abilities, look no further than Sonic Wall in their Immortal Tree:

Sonic Wall: Threatening scream creates sonic wall, protecting all allies in immediate area from a moderate amount of damage

We can hit people in the front with a Maul and their tanks add more protection to the group. Who got the better end of that tank buff. Guess we can always phase walk are *** out of there.......

Honestly, I hate maul as a tank sin on the PTS. the -only- reason I get it, is because it seems to be better than the other options...that's it.Not to mention it shares the same proc icon...infact the same proc slot as energize. So you can have both maul and energize up...and not know which, or both, by just looking at the proc.
The Empire is not evil, and the Republic is not good...it is all a matter of opinion.
