Bane went underground with his Rule of Two and the Sith secretly survived. The Sith were thought extinct by the Jedi after this point. Kibh Jeen warned the Jedi about the Rule of Two and how the Sith had secretly survived, but he was pretty much thought to be crazy. When the Sith did show it became apparent he was right, and so his information on the Sith and the Rule of Two in particular was dusted off and validated. Hope that explains things better, some things are just never explained properly in the movies. From a certain point of view the Rule of Two died with Tenebrous. If you read up Book of Sith, you will see that Sidious and Plagueis did exactly what Bane warned against. errant_knight Posted June 28, 2014 Share Posted June 28, 2014 It will be interesting to see if they maintain the rule of two in the new movies. I suspect they will. It cuts down on the effort of writing and casting the empire if you only have to worry about 2 sith. It's there because it's limiting, good because it's limiting and bad because it's limiting all at the same time, lol. It's there for the same reason the jedi keep getting wiped out and having to start over. Plots get complicated if you have 300 super powerful beings on each side. That's a shame, though. Technically it worked when Sidious rose to power, but I feel that was more an incompetence thing on the Jedi's part than the strength of the Rule of Two.
