What do you want to see in a class change.

I already made a thread about sorcs so i thought i would make up for each class and see what people actually want to see in a update to the class.

 

I will start, I for one would like see that damn translocate gone from tanking for the first thing it is rarely if ever used and it takes up a ability in the tanking tree which could be used to give us a decent defencive.

 

For pyro i'm mostly satisfived with it but it would be nice if we got a tacticle that would make it so that our scortch would spew fire on everyone around the target but let us only have 1 up.

 

For advance proto honestly i can't really say much about it i've never really been good at it.

 

Other then those i wish they would change flamethrower back to how it was since those little puffs of flame honestly arn't that nice to look at or give us something like what vizla does and let us zoom around the targets spewing fire on them in a quick and cool way.

For Pyro:

1. Replace deadly onslaught with FLAMETHROWER, 2 GCD channeled cast and you stay mobile with same total damage. ( Lore reasons )

2. Make Searing wave refresh Incendiary Missile.

3. Visual effect: give Flaming fist, Vent heat, Determination and Jet charge a visual effect of opening A couple of thruster flaps on your back with a small dustoff ( e.g. Titan 6 when launching ) effect.

4. Power yield: make it start at 5 stacks and slowly deteriorate to 1 for the full 30 seconds, taking damage adds a stack to a maximum of 5.

5. (NEW ability) survivability: Jet dodge, makes you use you jet pack to instantly go to your selected movement direction for 15 meters. ( just imagine rapid shots while flying backward )

6. (NEW utility) PVP/PVE survivability healing utility: Carbonize and Electro dart removes all applied dot(s) to whomever it stuns and heals for you 15% of every enemy cleansed up to a maximum of 5 cleansing .( basically 15% to 75% of your health )

Let's not overpower anything pls. PT is quite tough, at least on AP and tank specs. Escape abillity would be nice with grapple util. Translocate is useless because of its channel. I would make it instant, and class-wide, like Jugger protecting leap. For tanking tree I would put something strong with short duration, heal ot reflect. I would also replace hotswap to something buffing this nee tank abillity. Pyrotech is pure DoT spec, they are not refreshing their DoTs, they has to reapply them. Exception of this is Vegenance tsctical Crimson Slash. (AP and Lightning refreshing their DoTs, but they are burst specs)

A few thing's i'd like to change, but they're minor, like having my ranged attacks back.

 

Only thing that i feel needs to be changed is giving charge back to tanks as soon as they specialise. Also, Translocate is stupid. Even as instant cast it's very hard to come up with PVE situations where it's useful. Maybe it's great for PVP, at least i could see a use for it there, but tanking has very little to do with PVP.

 

So, instead of Translocate, make it a spell like the old paladin taunt from WoW. Target player, use spell. "taunts a small area around your target to attack you for 6 sec. additionally gives a heal to target and a small area heal at taunted area"

 

Ok, maybe the added heal is a little much, but even if it was just an areataunt on target, it would be a hell of a lot more useful than the translocate we have today.

Determination or Power Yield should clean all negative effects, and that translocate ability for shied tech is just absolutely useless, it should be replaced with idk anything will do better, I would like some dcd to deal with burst damage Edited by Voroschuk

I want my old "base class abilities" back. Mercenary with Rocket Punch, Vanguard with Full Auto, etc. I will never give up this fight!

 

Nor should you give up this fight.

 

I have also been asking for this for a very long long long long time. Hint Bioware.

I want to see the Kolto utility from the merc go to PT because we are "melee" and get caught in a lot of aoe spam in PVP. We don't really have any DCDs so this would make it on tier with a jugg (minus reflect). Realistically, we get close and personal in PVP and really should be the class with better DCDs because we have to engage the enemy while Mercs can simply be mobile since they are a ranged class.

I want to at least be able to fire a single decent shot from my gun.

 

Maybe that should be energy blast? I absolutely hate the animation for energy burst and mag shot so energy burst should come out of the blaster and remove mag blast and keep it as flame burst.

General:

- Cleanse ability added (since we have no heals like Mercenary)

- An additional defensive cooldown ability / some defensive capability increase (again, Mercenary has the advantage plus heals and cleanse and ranged)

- Return of channeled flamethrower for general use

 

Pyrotech:

- More effective DoT spread capability (i.e. spread Scorch with Searing Wave as well PLEASE)

- Small increase in DoT damage

- Proc'd channeled flamethrower implementation

 

I'd REALLY like to see the gameplay style of Virulence Sniper be the basis for Pyrotech (using a channeled flamethrower to deal burst DoT damage), but that probably won't happen so...

some way to improve energy shield or at least have a way to reduce the cooldown by 2 seconds for every crit we eat. (max once per 6 secs or so).

 

Well..the Problem with having a Pistol as pure cosmetic has been mentioned.

 

I will confess that I´ve returned from along break but I still miss the feeling of someone saying: "Oh well...we need a PT because he brings THIS cool stuff to the table. I Don´t want the instakill button but some cool utility, maybe crowd control that make a difference. Some carbonite or oil slick gimmicks would help.

The Range of the class in my experience is sub-par given we are using blaster rifles. It feels like everyone's else template can at least be done before agro mobs but ours cannot. I fine with it still being short if it a balance issue of some kind but it shouldn't be at a range that agro before firing.

I want Powertech to feel more like a bounty hunter, especially AP. Over the years all the changes have added up to the point where honestly the class doesn't feel like much of a BH to me, and has lost much of its iconic status. Pyro is only slightly better in this regard, but not by much.

 

Magnetic blast and energy burst are not interesting or iconic in any way. The animations are boring and look more like a generic sci-fi attack than something from Star Wars. Deadly onslaught feels more like a heavy infantry than a BH. Death from above was the coolest ability in the whole game, and highly iconic, in comparison.

 

There is no more channeled flamethrower, and searing wave, quick and boring as it is, isn't even really utilized in AP, and neither is flame sweep. I guess you can use a flamethrower in Pyro, but the channeled one was really what sold it. Not to mention typically BHs tend to use the flamethrower sparingly when it's useful, not as a main weapon.

 

Our oh so useful single pistol is used for exactly one standard attack, and otherwise forgotten. The wrist mounted attacks are way overdone. Just how many gadgets can you fit in one bracer? The only two abilities that make me feel like a BH at all are jet charge and grapple. Otherwise I honestly feel like just as much of a BH dressing up a vanguard as one. Using a rifle is at least more iconic than 90% of PT abilities.

 

Also the leveling experience as a PT/Vanguard is awful. For a good while you have no way to manage resources, no good gap closer, very little survivability, and mediocre damage. They take a lot longer to bloom and come into their own than many other classes. That needs to be looked into.

Haha yes, right now the only way to describe PT playstyle is "suicide bomber", especially with Meteor being the most popular set for DPS specs: you jump in for 15 sec then explode, heck you even explode right after being killed if you have EF on lmao.

I always thought they used a flamethrower to keep their distance or to smoke someone out from buildings, not to fry their bounties to death.

It will make more sense to have 1 short-range flamethrower ability as a pushback (PT is a mid-range class so we should be able to keep melee away) and a long-range one that will blow the target out of cover, so we could jet charge or grapple it.

It would be also great to have some escape ability as well, every other class has some way of getting away if things are not going so well, where PT is just going to die. I would happily trade my "insane burst" for those things.

This! They really butchered the powertech for some unfathomable reason. The flexibility 30m abilities like Unload gave the powertech was super fun in PvP without being overpowered, and made gameplay less simplistic than it is now.

Advanced Prototype with the supercharged flamethrower was my favorite class in any MMO and they destroyed it.

I'd love to see Shield Tech receive more defined cooldowns.

 

Every tank has similar base resistance, whether or not it applies to every attack, but both Jug an Sin can heal to full while a PT relies on... 51% (35% kolto trigger plus 8 seconds of 2% back with utility).

 

Considering PT is definitely not tougher than the other tanks, offering up some changes to the cooldowns would be highly intelligent.

 

Power Yield - as suggested, self cleansing would be fine here.

Kolto Overload - Replace the 58 ability with Kolto Injectors (a modified overload). 3 minute cd that when triggered reduces damage taken by 20% and offers 5% healing per second.

 

Since Energy shield is vastly inferior to saber ward, it makes sense that offering PT some buffs to their other DCDs makes sense.

Vanguard Tactics has "heavy" armor so maybe let us feel like we have armor now as DPS I feel naked otherwise DPS is good.

 

For shield specialist maybe a bit more damage and get rid of transpose it's useless, a good idea is to replace it with something like resilient and we need much better self-heal
