On and off player here. I got back into the game just before Christmas and am loving it.

 

I switch between a Jugg and Sorc. Whilst I've never really been any good at the game I love the PvP and am sticking with it. HOWEVER.......

 

With close range classes, I find it hard to track my target in a busy environment and often end up smashing skills that will not work as I am to far away. In ranged classes, I'm a little squishy.

 

Are there any mid-ranged classes/disciplines that might work for me? Something that works in the 10m range or around that?

Lethality Operative / Ruffian Scoundrel is mostly midrange. His priority dots are 30m, he has 2 priority melee attacks, and 2 priority 10m attacks. His mezz is 30m, but his hard stun is melee (4m). His basic attack is 30m, and his other non-rotation attacks are 10m. He also has great off heals. Think of this class & spec as a "skirmisher" type.

 

Powertech / Vanguard used to be more of a midranged class, but now he's mostly melee range.

Take a look at Powertech/Vanguard as well. They lack a 30m ability other than their basic attack and their pull, but nearly all of their attacks are 10m range, and plenty of them are AOE.
