Umbrasly
Hello, I've been playing with my sin character for awhile now and I'm still trying to figure out what gear to equip it with? Up until recently I've only figured out that power and surge plays a huge part in DPSing. But what is the perfect balance of a well geared sis for rank pvping? Discipline skill points? Stims and other items that helps in rank matches? And any other tips that helps contribute in becoming an awesome sith assassin. By the way, would it be best to have augments that apply both power and defense stats on a sith assassin as a DPS? Or just to have power and endurance stats? I wanted to have a durable assassin but not if it gets in the way of its DPS output.

Your lvl will dictate the percentages you should equip... Also remember when you go into pvp, which is what you want to base this on, that your stats get bolstered... There is a bolster terminal on the Ziost Shadow bridge deck, near the training dummies... Go there and click it to check your bolstered stats.. I have a link in my signature on how to gear up in pve gear while you are waiting to get pvp gear (just incase your not lvl 60 yet or don't have pvp gear) As for Sin stats... When you bolster... I aim for these stats - Crit chance -23-25% (this is from Crit equipment and willpower) Crit multiplier - 70-75% (this is from surge) Accuracy - 90-91 ( do not equip any accuracy) Maybe a little Alacrity... No more than 2% (this is personal preference, not everyone uses it) Once you have these percentages, start to stack power... You never need to stack endurance as it is in every armor, mod, enhancement, hilt and augment you will use... As for augments, if I have hit my 23-25 Crit chance, I stack all power (Overkill) augments... But if not use Willpower (resolve) augments or you can use a mixture Hope this helps
DarthMaulUK
With 1 month go to until Open beta starts for KOTFE, its kinda pointless you trying to balance your gear. You are better off saving your coms for 4.0. Open beta starts Oct 20th will full access on 27th. All the stats as we know it, will be dumbed into 3 stats as all classes become clones

Icykill_
Here go read this guide: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=811783 That will help you a lot. Yeah this is a good guide for new pvpers on Sins... When you get more advanced you may want to choose one or 2 different utilities based on your play style... But those ones listed are great

If you are playing a fair bit you should be able to try to balance your gear now, especially if you have made any big mistakes like adding defence to a DPS class... And still have plenty of Comms to get a full set of pvp gear when the xpac hits, if not a full set of ranked...
CaptRogue
And still have plenty of Comms to get a full set of pvp gear when the xpac hits, if not a full set of ranked... That's saying if they don't change coms or erase them all. I cant see them having everyone start in next season going full ranked day 1...not saying they won't but I imagine a com wipe might happen. DNGDangerous
That's saying if they don't change coms or erase them all. I cant see them having everyone start in next season going full ranked day 1...not saying they won't but I imagine a com wipe might happen. I doubt they would do that, since they havent already stated plans to do so. Info like that, being slammed on the consumer without notice will definatelly turn into bad PR for them. I am certain they will loose subscribers in droves if this was to happen (without notice). Granted, this is bioware were talking about... So I also wouldnt be surprised if it did happen. If their plan is for a coms wipe; people "should" be given ample time to spend their coms. Honestly though, the population of this game is so low right now, they really need to focus their efforts on pleasing the consumer; as opposed to pissing more people off. Because of this, I am sure they will tread lightly on any controversal actions not linked to expansion story content.
Psychopyro
Accuracy - 90-91 ( do not equip any accuracy) Maybe a little Alacrity... No more than 2% (this is personal preference, not everyone uses it) Maybe... maybe not... I went personally with 2 accuracy enhancements because of some of the debuffs that get thrown around. While they don't last long (well shadow/sin one lasts a bit longer), if they get thrown on your burst window in infiltration, suck... I actually pulled my alacrity for accuracy and I've personally had a better experience for it in matches. I'm still in that surge window (75%), crit is a little lower (21%). Those accuracy debuffs suck. And also since tanks don't really go defense (as shield/absorb is still the norm), it allows you to hit tanks a little bit harder. Again just my personal running. I have seen others run this way to, with 1 or 2 pieces of accuracy. Edited September 1, 2015 by Psychopyro

DirtyDiggler
If they are adding new gear and want people to earn new gear then they need a new comm setup and allow people to instantly gear up via coms. I expect they will simply revert to how it was, they will make a exhumed style set to be had with just coms and add a new set of ranked gear earned by new ranked coms.
