Warrek_Charr
So our raid group was in HM 8 man Soa. We get past the first phase just fine and we ar just about ready to lay down some pain on Soa at the start of phase 2. Enter Soa! This time he is back an angrier than ever! there is a huge flash of light and the entire raid goes down to just above half health. But that isn't enough to fuel Soa's desire for revenge, oh no... 10 seconds later he does it again and everyone now lays dead or dieing. Has anyone else encountered this bug? Izznoogood
Lol, this is no bug If you dont take donw the pylons on your way down, he will do this aoe attack an kick your ***
teemoor
It's not actually a bug. He has a stacking buff on him (icon looks like assassin's discharge). To remove this buff you need to destroy these pyramid thingies while you jump down on platforms. And skip 1st one - it bugs his buff stacks. And you can actually heal through this (normal/hard). Warrek_Charr
So the issue might be with the pylons. we are pretty diligent with those. Who knows, maybe one slipped. Thanks for the info : )

No you don't need to skip the first one, you just need to kill them in order on the way down and make sure you don't kill one on a lower tier before you killed the ones above. Correct, this is an old, easily reproduced bug that I've personally reported at least twice. What happens is if 2 (or more) of the Power Sources (pylons) are destroyed at the same time they will fail to remove Soa's buff and any subsequent Power Sources destroyed during the transition phase will have no effect on Soa's buffs either. Thankfully this is a very easy bug to work around, especially in an 8 man setting. Just have no one running ahead of the group and the power sources will fall one by one thus avoiding the issue altogether, as an added bonus it makes it easier to top off everybody since you're all together for AOE heal spams. Just one of the many Soa bugs around, don't worry the more you fight him the more you'll run into them, you'd think that after 3 months of the game being out they'd finally have this crap sorted out. Should've known better than to believe in this particular dev team.

Did you ever stop to consider that there is an order in which the pylons must be killed to fully clear his buff? Running ahead and killing one out of order always stops the debuff from counting down. First transition: Drop down west, kill pylon, kill pylon directly across, drop down and kill pylons as you come across them. Second transition: Drop down west, kill pylon, drop down, kill pylon, kill pylon to the north, kill the rest as you pass them. Works every single time. And killing them in the wrong order results in the buff still being up every single time. Edited April 3, 2012 by Khrak
