Lag spikes.

Greetings everyone! I'm a subscriber from Malaysia playing SWTOR. For the past 2 days, I've stumbled into a latency problem where every 1-2 minutes, my server lag would go up from the average 250ms that I am accustomed to play with to 5-6k ms. This lasts for at least 10-12 seconds. I've tried reinstalling the game, port forwarding and flushing the dns, not to mention using a wired connection since im aware that a wired connection is better than using wifi (which is how im usually playing btw). Nothing's working. I've also attached my pingplotter results down here and from what I can see, hop 13 is the problem (89% Packet loss). Can anyone advise/help?

I play from Abu Dhabi on the east coast servers and have been experiencing problems that manifest themselves as lag spikes and frequent disconnects for almost two months now. I don't think the problem is lag spikes though, I believe it is packet loss. I have run ping plotter and it points to a major backbone node in Chicago that is running about a 75% packet loss from my location.

Our problems may not be the same and a tracert would probably not show that failing node like ping plotter does. If you search the forums there are instructions on how to set up ping plotter to monitor your connection.

I have not gotten any response from SWTOR/EA customer service and I don't expect they will or are able to resolve honestly.

Someone else suggested WTFast as a solution but I found that my ping was higher and did not resolve the disconnects/packet loss personally.
