CC immunity is OP

For a game that CC is a huge part of PVP and some classes only defense, to have other classes that can totally negate is quite silly. As much as I try, I cant see how a Sorc is suppose to defend themselves against CC immunity class or how it does not just kill huttball especially with on the spot re-specing.

Gunslingers's CC immunity requires them to sit in one place and don't move or they won't take advantage of the full 20 second duration.

Unremitting/Unstoppable lasts a grand total of 4 seconds. As Guardians don't have a baseline hard stun during which they can beat on you unopposed you can't really call a short CC immunity OP. Guardian tanks do have hard stuns of course but their damage is so pitiful that it's negligible.

In short, this is one of the stupider complaints.

First, you use "stupider" when inditing something else as stupid, really nothing more need be said on that front.

Second, in a game where you can kill someone in 4 seconds or dam close to it, yes it is op.

Third, QQing a lack of a hard stun has nothing to do with the subject as lack of a hard stun does not make a Guardian defenseless by a long shot.

You must be one of the bads who has to rely on stuns in order to kill anything even in a 1000v1 :)

I would bet money you are a bad that just playing the FoTM spec to make yourself feel as you are skilled, someone who needs it or why else would be trolling? Is someone advocating against your delusional self-justifying sense of self-worth?:(

Lol some sorc tried to win a DPS race with a sniper after his CC hit the entrench :)

At least with a sniper/slinger you can DoT run and heal and come back after the entrench is up, there is a defensive path on both sides in that match up.

Yeah, there are many other stupid complaints on the forums. This is one of the more stupid ones.

QQing over certain classes' CC immunity - and not having a hard stun is VERY relevant when it comes to discussing CC immunity - does not make a Sorcerer defenseless. Or any other class, really, except Mercenary. But what isn't OP when we compare it to a Mercenary's capabilities?

Yes, you can kill someone in 4 seconds. Hint: you can kill that CC immune player, too. He's not immune to damage!

I know parsing this bit of knowledge to you will be like trying to teach a pig to play Rachmaninoff, you have to have intelligence to measure it.

If you have a Sorc that can kill another player in 4 sec...you must post that, its a must see...that is going to be awesome to see how you can damage a shd/***, kill a mar/sent or jugg/grd in 4 sec with a sorc/coun and as a sorc I would take 4 sec stun immunity instead of a "hard stun" any day because immunity and force speed would actually be a viable defense.

You're a likeable person, aren't you? Coming up with insults straightaway. Nice.

Marauders don't have CC immunity cooldown. Neither do Rage Juggs. A Vengeance Juggernaut can't kill you in 4 seconds, they lack the burst. You yourself admitted that dotting, LOS and self-heals provide a viable strategy against Snipers.

A stun is better defense than CC immunity. Stun = the enemy isn't in control of their character, can't do anything. CC immunity: they can't stun you but are otherwise free to act as they like. A Sorc with a stun has four seconds during which he can whack the opponent who can't fight back or he can heal himself - which, by the way, no class that has any form of CC immunity can do.

You're one of those players who just want to throw their stuns on everyone as soon as possible. SWTOR encourages that, it already caters to you. There's really no need to dumb this game down even more for those who believe the only answer to an attack is a stun.

You see the problem with the unstoppable immunity is that there isn't much useful a sorc can do. As a dps sorc your main priority is to kite at all times, taking any amount of damage is too much. However after being force charged you are rooted so its not like you are going to be moving so your next best option would be to stun. Well you can't stun, knock back or slow because they are also still immune. Next best option would be to cast something until the root wears off but with their interrupt not requiring a global or any rage this is also a bad option leaving instant casts as your only option.

So out of instant casts you have

-affliciton

-shock (Force heavy; 1.2 to 2.4k damage while geared)

-bubble

-Unnatural preservation

-Force slow (bad choice as target is immune)

Deathfeild (if speced)

Non of these options are exactly great and the immunity can be activated again by using force push and then force charge again.

The problem lies in the fact that this kind of ability doesn't lend you the option to get off any casts as a dps for long periods of time as you must kite in order to start casting. Perhaps this wouldn't be so bad if sorcerers could put out good single target damage but since their burst damage is so low and highly effected by armor this will not happen.

Of course this might be a little less annoying if everyone didn't focus sorcs/mercs constantly anyway

totally agree :d_smile:

if a smasher wants to hug a sorc he will :(

they have no respect for boundaries

No means "No"

lets see when you can use a "hard stun" vs stun immunity

use stun when all things are true

CD is up

when opponents resolve is down

when no immunity is on opponent

when within 10m of opponent

when not stunned

when facing the direction of opponent

use stun immunity when all things are true

CD is up

not stunned

within 30m (only if leap activated)

and to add to that a break free and your stun defense is gone but stun immunity can not be stopped.

Yeah lets not dumb it down to "JUGGY SMASH" or anything.

OP makes a thread whining about CC immunity, right after making a different thread about the "gear gap" and how SWTOR should adopt a WoW-esque PvP model. I'm now convinced you're either a troll with too much time on your hands. Or a really, REALLY bad player. I'm leaning toward the latter of the 2.

At least I can't be charged with being a boot-lick sycophant some might not be able to do the same.

If you're going to play the "witty, verbose troll" role, you might want to make sure that you use proper punctuation sweetheart...
